This is very exciting! It will be nice to not have to drive 27 miles one way to buy a bottle of wine! It's 2012 and about time that people will at least have a choice.

No one checks vehicles at the county line when they bring alcohol in from the surrounding cities and counties. So how could buying it in Hawkins be worse than buying it in Sullivan, Hamblen, Greene, Carter, Knox, Washington, and now Unicoi county?

It's better because we won't have to drive 27 miles to Kingsport or Morristown to get it.

You could only vote for it if you lived within city limits so I think just the city but I'm not absolutely positive about it.

Probably someone who is not from Rogersville. Maybe the people from India who run the discount tobacco store and raceway gas station. That's my bet!

The 21st century! People should have the option. If people don't want to buy it then they don't have to.

I think its great. Think of the extra money that will be kept in our county. Hopefully our schools can benefit from this. Now if we could only oust Charlotte and get her position voted in we would be flying.

This is just great NOT!! why weren't county residents allowed to vote? It should have to stay within city limits since we weren't. We'll see how happy ya are when there's that many more drunks on the road!

Alcohol doesn't seem to be involved when shoppers drive diagonally across the parking lot at 60 mph, while talking on the phone, trying to spank the kids in the back seat or trying to light a cigarette.

I had a older guy nearly back over the front of my truck at the Co-Op because he thought turning tight would get him backed out quicker. He was sober but blind as bat.

Alcohol and tobacco the first two true gateway drugs. What did you try first, Daddy's beer or momma's cigarette or mamaw's snuff or papaw's chew?

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Aquarius

Watch out if you're going shopping, because you'll be tempted to splash out on impulse buys. This doesn't matter so much if you're feeling flush, but it could cause problems if you're supposed to be counting every penny. Whatever the state of your finances, you may buy items you don't need and possibly even won't like when you look at them again tomorrow.
