This whole situation is a joke. Obviously the mother never meant to harm or scare her daughter or the DA would have taken care of the situation accordingly. His dropping of all charges against Ms. Setsor should tell all of u that there is much more to this story that is not being told. Evidently, he didn't find enough facts to charge the mother. The daughter is just being spiteful because her mother threw her out of the house. Doug Jenkins would have never allowed his client to refuse a plea bargain unless he thought they were guilty of the crime. I believe that Ms. Setsor had no intent to scare much less harm her child. The pellet gun was retrieved to clean from under the bed not to use as a weapon. It was unloaded and never at any time pointed anywhere near Cheyenne. She is a mixed-up little girl that is being brain-washed by her cousin Noah to carry everything as far as she can. Those of you that have doubt, just wait until you hear the other side of the story. I think u will change your mind about the situation. It is being carried too far to be a simple arguement. It is ridiculous and way out ofhand. I hope Ms. Setsor is found innocent becuse I believe she is. She is just guilty of making a poor judgement on what to use to clean from under the bed. Nothing more.

Cheyenne is listening to the advice of her older cousin, Noah. For some reason he has convinced Cheyenne to press charges. She was wanting to drop the charges back in February but couldnt until March 16, court date. In the meantime Noah persuaded her to press charges to the fullest against her mom. So yes, an 18 year old girl can punish her mom without a second thought because she has a heart of ice. She is simply getting even with her mom for throwing her out and hasn't stopped to think about the consequences of her actons. We have all been talking about what Ms. Setsor did or at least chey claimed to do to her. Have you ever stopped to think about what Cheyenne did to her mom during this ordeal? It will defintiely come out in court and it won't be good on the daughter's part.

I don't know of any child who would wish their parent in jail no matter how many arguments they have had. I also know that in many instances children do not want their parents put in jail even when they have done horrible things to them so no this does not sound like a case of a spoiled child getting her way. I don't think she would take it so far as the grand jury and risk jail time for her mom just to teach her a lesson, she was have accepted a plea bargain. That is just my opinion but I am entitled to mine just as you are to yours.
I also happen to still believe that this person should be put on paid leave until this is resolved but again my opinion and apparently not one shared by the school board so I guess we will just had to wait and see what happens in court.

Said exactly right. The DA and the officer didnt think there was sufficient evidence to give any punishment to Ms. Setsor. Cheyenne had already told her little brother, her grandmother and grandfather that she wouldn't push the case. She outright lied to everyone. She wouldn't take any bargain that the DA offered and the mother had agreed to doing several things as punishment. Instead she let her controlling cousin Noah (who should have never been allowed tobe in the bargaining room with her and the lawyers) talk her into doing this to her mom. Her mother did not threaten her life and she doesn't deserve to lose her job nor not be able to raise her teenage son that desperately needs his mother. His father is dead. What is Cheyenne going to do when she stops getting all kinds of attention and petting and realizes exactly what she has done toher motheer? She wont be able to undo what she did. How will she be able to live with the guilt of making her mother lose her job and the brother lose his mother over a simple misunderstanding. I pity the mother and son. I have heard that the brother is fully supportive of his mother because he knows what Cheyenne is capable of. He is taking this situation quite hard. He cries over it on a daily basis. Cheyenne can still go to the DA and accept their terms. She needs to do that before it is too late. Her mother did not even raise that bb gun that she got to clean out from under the bed. Instead when she seen Cheyenne's reaction to it, she immediately went and put it in the gun cabinet. Don't youthink if the mother was wanting to even scare her daughter that she would have raised the gun to scare her anymore. There was never an intent to scare her much less a threat to her life. It is too bad that there are such malicious, spoiled people out there like her and her cousin Noah. The mother is innocent in all of this. God will carry her through and I am sure will punish Cheyenne and Noah in time for their actions. The old saying what comes around goes around has always been proven to be a true statement. This maliciousness and spitefulness toward her mother will not go unpunished. I even heard that the mother has a good case against her daughter but has been quite and protected her so far. What is Cheyenne going to do when the mother is forced to tell the whole story? Will she be charged with criminal charges, too? As far as Noah goes, the military should do something about his pressuring Cheyenne into pressing charges against her mother. If not for him, Iam sure that Cheyenne would have already tried to drop the charges. Right after the incident she tried to call the lawyer and drop the charges. Then, her cousin Noah had to go and stick his nose into things. He has Cheyenne brain-washed. If he went and told her to drop all charges today, she would/ By the way when the 911 director said that she heard "kill you" the bb gun had already been put away. Several people including the lawyers have listened to that tape and can't hear those words in it.

Veleka is no innocent angel and Cheyenne has always been a good girl, as far as I've been told be her peers. I remember Veleka and while she put on a front that showed her as innocent little angel whose never done anything wrong, others knew the truth about her double personality (acting one way, doing another). Veleka is on prescription medications and yes, people become addicted and do stupid things even on doctor prescribed medications. She should be put on leave! Maybe Cheyenne is repeating her mother's innocent act, I don't know, but I do know that what Veleka did was wrong and she violated her morality clause in her contract. SHE should NOT be teaching!

ROGERSVILLE — The aggravated assault charge against Hawkins County Elementary School teacher Veleka Setsor was bound over to the Hawkins County grand jury Monday following a preliminary hearing before Sessions Judge David Brand.

The grand jury next meets in April.

Setsor, 39, 102 Gordon Road, Rogersville, was charged with aggravated assault following an incident that occurred at her home on Feb. 3 in which she allegedly threatened to kill her daughter.

Two witnesses testified during Monday’s preliminary hearing including Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chris Funk, who responded to the Feb. 3 domestic disturbance complaint at the Setsor residence.

Funk brought three long guns to court Monday — a shotgun and two air rifles. Funk testified that he’d asked Setsor what happened, and she replied that she’d gone into the bedroom to get a gun to make her daughter leave.

Funk testified that Setsor could not say which gun she’d gotten, but it was one of the three brought to court Monday.

Setsor and her daughter, Eden Cheyenne Setsor, 18, reportedly had been arguing about money that night, and during that argument Veleka Setsor ordered her daughter to move out.

Funk said Eden Setsor told him her life had been threatened.

Hawkins County 911 dispatcher Samantha Napier testified Monday that she took the 911 call, and during the call heard that there may be a gun involved. Napier testified that she then heard the words “kill you.”

Hawkins County 911 Director Gay Murrell told the Times-News Tuesday she has sent the tape recording of that 911 call to be enhanced, after which it will be turned over to the attorney general’s office.

Following the testimony of both witnesses, Brand ruled that there was probable cause to bind the charge over to the grand jury.

1. Tell me please where all charges have been dropped? Sure does seem like bound over to the GRAND JURY by what I read.
2. She just got the gun to clean from under the bed?..Witness stated "he’d asked Setsor what happened, and she replied that she’d gone into the bedroom to get a gun to make her daughter leave."
3. I can't wait for the results of this trial. You better believe if she comes out of it guilty the school system will have a HUGE mess on their hands.

She did not pull a gun on her child. The gun was intended to be used to rake things from under Cheyennes bed. The mother never intended to threaten her with it. Also the mother called 911 because the daughter was out of control and she just wanted to get her calmed down. Get your facts straight before you respond/

For those defending Ms. Setsor, would you please give it a break. I have read all the responses on here, and there is a huge amount of false information even from those who are in her corner. So until you folks know what you are talking about, then you are only hurting Veleka worse.
Her daughter is not pressing charges, as she cannot determine whether or not a plea bargain is accepted. The officer may have been willing to give his grace on the plea bargain being offered to Ms. Setsor by the District Attorney, but he in no way stated that there was not sufficient evidence against Ms. Setsor. If he felt there was not enough evidence, then he never would have arrested her in the first place. If the judge had determined that the evidence was lacking, then it would not have been a true bill bound over to grand jury.
As for offering a plea bargain, most everyone in Hawkins County is offered a plea. So that in know way suggests that she is not guilty nor guilty. When she goes to trial, she will have her opportunity to defend herself. Until then, you are only stirring the pot and making matters worse for her.

1. The DA and the arresting officer did in fact drop all charges. The daughter wouldn't drop them. She wants to see her mom in jail.
2.There was never a witness that heard that. The only thing told the officer was I had a BB gun. NEVE WAS IT SAID THAT SHE WENT TO GET IT TO GET CHEYENNE OUT. she did go get it to get stuff from under thebed.
3. No one has heard any of her witnesses side of the story and what Cheyenne was witnessed doing to her mother. Her mother also has pictures to prove her daughter's guilt.

Ms. Setsor is innocent. The officer just said that she showed him where the gun was. Cheyenne herself told Judge Brand that she wanted her mom to go to criminal court. She is just being spiteful because her mom made her move out. She knows that her mother would never hurt her. Never offered to, never has, and never will.

You people on here must be a damn bunch of idiots. Don't you know that bruises don't show for a day or two afterward? This mother is innocent. She never threatened her child with a gun no matter what all of you think. The daughter just raged, lost control, and did some things that she regrets. I guess you could say both are guilty of making mistakes or both are guilty. It wasn't one or the other. It was both. I am so tired of all of you nosy people commenting on situations that you don't know anything about. Both should be let off the hook or both punished. Both would have been left off the hook if the cousin hadn't convinced Cheyenne of pressing charges. He should be the one punished!

Well you know what everybody is also tired of hearing about how innocent Veleka is in all this. The truth will come out and there will be alot of ppl surprised when it does. I do know the family and yes both veleka and cheyenne have tempers, most ppl do lash out from time to time. Cheyenne may be spoiled but the only person that made her that way is her mother!!! When a child turns 18 you have to let go but veleka has always told cheyenne that if she moved out she would keep the check cheyenne gets each month from her father. I don't fault veleka for using that money but cheyenne is 18 and that money is rightfully hers now. As for veleka don't blame your problems on the cousin, you could have prevented this mess by being there when your kids really needed you and you wasn't. That's why they reach out for other family members that they know will be there and that they can trust. As far as cheyenne's older cousin from what I was told he is only there for moral support and hasn't influenced cheyenne in any way. But in the gordon and bloomer family you better hope you have at least one of them on your side because they do and will turn on you to get what they want and it doesn't matter who they hurt and lie on in the process!!!!!
