I have never had any reason to suck up to anyone. And I do not need a job, so thanks anyway. I own my own business and I am just speaking from experience. I know what it is like to deal with the locals. I know what it is like for one of your wonderful employees to be out all night partying, come to work the next day drunk and hungover, and then go out in a company vehicle, wreck it and nearly kill somebody. It has gotten to the point that we have instituted mandatory safety meetings every morning, and not because we have safety issues to discuss but instead because we want to round everybody up in the same room and see which ones are drunk/high today before we send them out to customer sites.

If you want to know the truth about why companies hire illegals, this is one reason why. A lot of people are under the impression that illegals are hired because they cost less than hiring an American, but that is false. Hiring an illegal typically costs more. These people have no education whatsoever, they have no skills or experience, they cannot speak english, and when you are at a jobsite where every minute counts against your bottom line, you end up wasting a lot of time and money just trying to communicate basic tasks. What's worse is when you tell these people one thing, there is a communication problem, and they go do the wrong task. That means wasted time and materials.

Now I have never hired an illegal myself, but I do see why companies do it. Even though these people are generally less skilled and less capable than American workers, they have morals, responsibility and work ethic that American workers do not have. That is because they aren't "entitled" like American workers. And this is one reason why America is losing the battle, our workforce basically can no longer compete with workers in other countries.

No, the greediness of our great nation has made it impossible for the average working man to make it! You "buissness men" don't want to pay for insurance. Gas is rediculous. You hours suck. Food is outrageous. The CEOs of this great nation, make way more than they need! They are outright just greedy, and that is why our jobs are going over seas, so they can continue enjoying the life they are acustomed to! You Cooperate Tycoons would rather sell out, then to make things right with the American worker! You put us in this little mold, and say like it or lump it! Well kiss this Americans @ss! I won't play your rules, and you soon will feel the pain the blue collar man feels!

Funny that almost everyone is saying that Sam Dong sucks and they make you work hard, wait isnt that why you were hired, TO WORK HARD, if you want money for nothing then go back to your non paying job that involves sitting on your ass, drawing food stamps and unemployment, and then when that runs out, find you a job and maybe do a little bit of work........but wait isnt that what some of your crying is about in the first place, so good luck in your little personal poor me life, or just shut up, boot up, get you butt to work.

[@ I am the 1 percent] American workers still have morals and work ethics. What they’re sick and tired of is being laid off before retirement age so some illegal pups can come in that don't speak English so they can run defective products that have to be inspected and reworked by original workers, who were covered up with other people's work to begin with. Now I've worked with illegals and run of the mill rednecks. Both get arrested on the weekends for DUI or possession or they both refuse to stay at their workstation because they want some cute piece of meat across the way. I had one Honduran girl who just wanted a husband; she didn’t know how to be alone much less how to work alone.
Your main problem is temp agencies send bodies not workers qualified for the job they are sent to. Hire and fire from the factories and cut out the temp agencies. Second day absent over drinking or possession, John Boy should be banned from coming back to work but temp agencies need to sell this loser's behind again and again. So the companies won‘t hear about John Boy’s drinking or drug problems. If you run your own business you know how the problem can be fixed but too many have church friends and buddies who feel ENTITLED to beg to keep an idiot employed so they won't have to keep him him up. I’ve seen too many drug addicted lead people let slide because of the dirt they had on others. If you want morals start at the top. Zero tolerance for absenteeism related to alcohol or drugs or use on the job. If you have people using drugs or alcohol on the job, I hate to break it to you but you have safety issues.
When supervisors and management stop hiring and promoting their piece on the side or their dimwitted kinfolk over experienced dedicated workers, people might take pride in what they do. Until then workers have an obligation to complain about nepotism, safety issues and over all bad management. Most I've seen hate the way their companies are run but they keep quiet and let it get worse. Suddenly they’re all shocked and disturbed when the doors close. As if they didn't see it coming or know how to prevent it.

Wow. You sound like you have it all figured out. You must be one of those sucking managments @ss.

A person has to be on drugs to work at that sh.t hole, with the long hour, and crappy pay. I know 10 people that has worked there, and they all say the same thing. The Koreans know nothing about family, all they know is work. Work is their "God". Most people work to live, and not live to work.

You will never get a head in this economy. The big Corporations won't let you. You are under their thumb. They make the wages suck so bad, that you have to work "insane overtime" just to make it. I refuse to be a part of a system, that doesn't take care of their employees, especially when the "don't" do drugs, and they show up everyday and put in a good days work. I work for myself. I make my own hours, and set my own prices. Nobody needs slant eye! Maybe you do, but the friends I know that worked there are doing just fine without The Dong.

Have fun blowing, but don't blow to hard lol.

if working 15 days total in a month 12 hr days is long hours, you must be lazier than most people, as for the part of you know 10 people that has(past tense)worked there, evidently they didnt like to work at a decent paying job and have alot of time for family or they found a better opportunity and went for it, no problems with that. but more than likely they got fired from a dummy proof job. its the easiest job that i have ever had. and just for the record dumba*** if you dont live to work then how the heck are you working to live, same thing in a different structural metaphrase.

I think that the people are unable to tell good employees from bad employees, I applied for a supervisors position there and was turned down, well they never called, I was told that if I had a hard time understanding the Korean gentleman that interviewed me that I would not be hired. The Minute he spoke I knew I was not going to be hired. I find it hard to believe that in America, I was punished for not speaking broken english. Sam Dong past up a chance at a really good supervisor, but they were not smart enough to tell.

yeh I heard that. One of my friends works there and said it would be a good place to work but there is 2 problems. 1 he said they have problems in turnover rate very high. Because the one's in charge don't have a clue whats going on. They bought Koreans over to train people then they go back home then the boss that are here try to go and do it there way. 2 they can't come up with a shedule for people to go by. And when they do they want to starve your family to death. I know jobs are hard to fine as my friend would say if your about broke try it tell something comes around or just keep looking if you can. It would be a good place if the main Korean would open his eyes to what going on and see that the bosses that he hired any got it to keep it going.

I heard that the quality department has went all to crap... they had to hire 2 people to do that one chicks job when she was let go then the manager got let go... sounds like the one chick that was let go was doing a lot of the work for the manager and they finally figured that out. I know several people that work there and they are all looking for jobs...

I just started working there abt a month ago, I got hired in straight thru the company. My start out pay was 10.00 an hr. I get a raise of .50 after 90 days. The benefits are great, they pay for ur medical and dental at a 100% and if u add ur spouse, medical is an extra 60.00(I think thats what it is) out of ur check every 2 weeks and dental is an extra 7.47(I think it is) every check. They pay for you a $50,000 life insurance after 90 days of employement. The shifts are either 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am. You work 2 on & 2 off with every other weekend off. Not a bad job. Just have to learn alot.

Do you have to rotate shifts? Like work the day shift then go to night shift?
