Has this Murphy gas mix up story made the papers yet? If not, why not? How hard is it to make gas station holding tanks idiot proof? Who was the driver? Was he drug tested? Could he read all English labels and signs?

All gas holding tanks are idiot proof but sadly people aren't. I hear he was fired immediately.

Lets think about this ,it might not have been the drivers fault. If someone had the wrong lid on the gas pipe,or the person where the driver filled his truck up could have put the diesel in the truck. There are so many people it could have been. Hardesty is doing repairs

Next time you drive over a gas lid at most any gas station you can see they are all color coded and the lid is the same color as the pipe it goes in. Driver could definitely catch that mix up. Now if someone loaded his truck wrong yea could have been different story.

Maybe it was a mix up at the fuel stockyard as the fuel was put in the truck?

So this happened on October 25th and it is just now hitting the papers. It should have been front page news on the 26th to notify customers that the fuel was bad. I know let's just keep this to ourselves and no body will find out.

Walmart is not a media friendly company, and I'm sure it wasnt easy for the Times to get them to admit this.

This sounds like another Topix hoax. I haven't seen or heard anything about this from real people or in any newspaper. Correct me if I'm wrong and link me to an article.

Thanks Doc Love. I am always skeptical after that hoax about ''important people'' in the park. Also, if I would have read more thoroughly, I would have seen the links already posted on here. Thanks again, though!

I also got gas at Murphy and didn't know what was wrong with my blazer. My husband drove it to work that night after getting gas and came home the next morning it was missing and smoking and almost didn't make it home. It has been sitting in the driveway since Oct. 24. 2012. Haven't had money to get it checked out. But knew it had to be something with the gas. Now I know what it was. Someone needs to be held responsible. How can I go about trying to get my car running again. I have 4 grandchildren living with me and with my car messed up I have no way of getting around.

I was getting my car repaired at royston dodge (for a different reason) and when I went to pick up my car I notice the place was packed full of vehicles,(due to getting the wrong gas) to make a long story short. the service manager at the dealer told me that murphys gas station is paying for it all. so maybe call the dealer and talk to the service department and ask. hope this helps.

I see they are admitting to putting diesel in the "gas" tanks but I was also under the impression that they put gas in the "diesel" tanks. Diesel in a gas engine is not a big problem but gas in a diesel engine is death!
