MAYBE closed on Monday, doubtfully Tuesday. Come on, this is Hawkins County, they don't care about anything except themselves, the more we get out of school the more they lose money.

They will put us on a 2 hour delay and then the buses won't even run, happened the first day back after Christmas break, my son waited for 20 minutes on the bus that never came, I dropped him off at the bus stop a little earlier than normal to accomadate for the first day back too.

At 5:30 in the morning on the fist day back after Christmas it was posted on the school website that school was closed. Maybe instead of complaining about Hawkins County (the county you are living in) you should pay more attention and instead of dropping your child off at the bus stop he/she could have stayed in bed.

A fine example of an illiterate redneck. Re-read what I wrote, please, if you will. I said on the first day BACK to school, that means Tuesday, as you said their was no school Monday so your logic is flawed, Monday wasn't the first day back because their was no school that day.

I dropped my kid off at the bus stop a little bit early Tuesday morning and the bus never came, so I had to take him to school.

I would never just drop my kid off at a bus stop and leave him or her there by themselves especially that early in the morning! Sound like you were just in a hurry

On Tues morning I had my child ready and waiting to go to school (they were opening on a two hour delay). The bus normally came at 700 so I had him ready and out by 850. We waited 45 minutes (assuming the roads may be bad and they were running slow) and no bus. I figured they had closed school and didn't update the web-page. I found out later that the bus did run, but it came a half an hour early. I had no transportation that day and my child missed school. How are we supposed to know what time they will be around when they have a delay in opening? The bus shop didn't have an answer for that question either.

Honestly, you should call the school and complain and try to get that counted as an excused absence, and not a parent note excused either.

Buses should be on time all the time, especially on a 2 hour delay when it is 10 degree, not 30 minutes late or 30 minutes early.

Maybe the bus did run early because I dropped him off about 5 minutes earlier than normal, but if it really ran earlier than 5 minutes they should hire someone who is responsible enough to do the job.

My lord....no wonder everything is/seems so bad - look at what the citizenry does – whines, complains, and whines some more. Everything is someone else’s fault – no one seems to do anything other than point fingers. I have a novel idea – find a mirror and point the finger then – everyone will see the real problem – themselves. Start trying to change or solve things other than complaining complaining complaining…..

Apparantely you are illiterate because I did not say anything in my comment about Monday. Please go back and re-read. I said the first day back which was Tuesday because they were already knew they were closed Monday due to teacher in service day. That has been on the school calender since the beginning of the year.

Hawkins County Schools were closed on Monday due to teacher in service day(which we have known since the beginning of the school year, as it is on the school calendar). The first day back would have been Tuesday but school was closed. They were on a 2 hr delay on Wednesday. School was on a regular schedule Thursday but dismissed at 1pm due to potential weather. Apparently some may be confused on the days because the arguments everyone is having just isn't adding up.

I apologize, it must of been Wed. It was the first day back on the two hr delay. When the kids are off so long I lose track of days..lol

I really hope you don't believe that getting off your backside and doing something other than whine is not the rudimentary way to begin to illict change.....
