Times News said the movie theater in town may have to close. I hate to hear that. Rogersville will lose something special.

It is special because the theater is here in Rogersville! It does not require a trip to Kingsport or Knoxville or elsewhere to see a movie on the big screen. There is not another movie theater in Rogersville or Hawkins County. It offers the choice of four movies and the facilities are modern and clean. It is warm in winter and cool in the summer. The prices are reasonable compared with bigger cities. Given time, it offeres most of the current movies.
While I don't go to a movie very often I will, for one, surely miss it.

Now, I am no movie fan, but it is nice to have a theater when the mood strikes. I have talked with some folds from the theater, and improvements will be made, and Im going to go help in any way I can. If you like having a theater, help by supporting it. If not, please don't hinder. Peace!

Supporting it by going to see a movie isn't going to help with the 335,000 it is going to cost to convert the projectors to digital. They are going to need financial help. I take my grandchildren almost every time there is a children's movie on. I go myself a couple times a month. The theatre is very clean and affordable. The workers are very friendly and so is the owner. Wish he could get some help to convert things over. Hate to see it close.

They knew this was coming a long time ago. It has been poor planning on their part. They should have charged a fee($1 a ticket) that would be used toward upgrades. They could have fundraised. No excuses to let time slide by them and not be prepared for the needed upgrade.
Piss poor management.

I plan to help lower the cost of converting.
