Or, the bicyclist was being irresponsible and darting in and out of traffic using inane hand signals and disregarding rules of the road.

Let me guess if the 60 year old man would of worn a bicycle helmet, he would of survived no matter what.

Car Vs. Bike.... Bike always lose. Everyone needs to be careful. Share the roads instead of OWNING the road

Three comments here and all of them full of snark. What is the matter with you people? Next time try saying, "I feel bad for his family's loss" or "My condolences".

this bycycling thing is out of contol, i had wait behind some dipsh-t that was in the left hand turn lane, since when is the middle of the street a safe place for these idiots to be, riding, a motor vehicle is hard enough to drive with all the traffic these days, now you have to deal with these people in there spandix clothes, all over the road, they rarely stop for traffic signals, hold up traffic with there stupid antics, why can`t they just stick to the side of the road. there making bike lanes all over the place, only motorized vehicles should be allowed on the center lanes of a main artery, or highway, next they`ll want to drive on the interstate, oh yeah i thought they had to ride single file down roadways, when are they going to start to inforceing that, with all the cell phones and other distractions on the rode, if i were a cyclist i`d buy lots of life insurance, for my family good luck, you morons

Michael's post breaks just about every rule of grammar. My son, who is 10, has a better grasp of grammar than Michael does. Failure to use proper grammar significantly detracts from the credibility of the poster. Aside from that, Michael's post was nothing more than a mean-spirited rant.

Also, Michael, your name calling (moron, etc.) would have much more credence if you actually knew the laws and regulations regarding bicycles and how they are to be operated on the roadway. I'll give you an 'A' for effort though, for your completely selfish rant about having been slowed down by a bicyclist as a reaction to reading about this man's death.

Buy more life insurance? Are you suggesting that cyclists deserve to die because they are supposedly getting in your way? What a completely idiotic thing to say. Do us all a favor and quit breathing the precious air, or at the very least, go throw rocks at yourself.

Your first comment I basically agree with. Quite snarky, and making guesses based on very little information. However, what would be the point of writing that you feel bad and send your condolences for other people to read, when your feelings are being expressed to the people who aren't reading this?

She was not on the phone, she was by herself driving slow, when the bicyclist lost control and swerved across two lanes of traffic and crashed his bike in front of the moving vehicle. You should be ashamed of yourself for judging...How would you have a clue what happened? Were you there? No. I was. So please shut up. The bicyclist was not wearing helmet. Word to the wise if, where a helmet. It could have saved his life but we will never know.

My best friend died on her moped 7 years ago. It was her fault and she wore no helmet. In her case, she was struck off the bike, then suffered the head blow on the cement. She may not have died had she worn one we bought her.
It's really hard to loose someone this way no matter what......
To anyone who loved this man, I am sorry you had to loose him to this and God speed the healing.

By law even cars must move to the right side of the road if they are moving slower than other traffic. For bikers to obstruct traffic is 100% contrary to any enviromentalist thinking. Cars are burning gas/diesel and pollute more the more they are runing and the slower they are moving. So if you want to reduce pollution get the phock out of the way of cars and trucks. Keep them moving and get them to there destination ASAP. Of course it is great fun to get in front of cars/trucks to po the drivers. Until of course your spandex butt is squished by an 18 wheeler. Maybe even that is fun, I'm thinking not so much. What do ya think?
