What do I know about it? I know that I have personally seen the kid in Onaway driving like an idiot. I know that 3 people are dead b/c of poor choices that HE made in how he drove. I know that he had NO buisness on Hutchinson Hwy that day-lunch hour is for getting lunch, not drugs for your pals. I know a number of the kids in that vehicle, who will vouch for his behavior.

And if you think that 2 yrs in prison is the worse punishment possible then you have some serious problems. The kid was facing 15 yrs for vehicular manslaughter and got off on neg. homicide. Every choice we make has consequences-good or bad, he made a bad choice in his driving, he now has consequences to face for it. Yes, I have kids, yes, I know what it is like to see my kids face the consequences for their choices, i'm glad when they make good choices and get good consequences, and I am sad and sorry when they make bad choices and suffer the consequences.

Please stop talking if you are going to be ignorant of the facts.

OK Brackishwater, you are pretty much right on. Now let the kid do his time and let everyone get passed this horrible event. You dont help anything venting here. Let the community heal. Many still read this stuff and are reminded and it hurts. Say your prayers and let it go.

Just because th people in his truck were getting drugs doesn't mean he was. So get that straight and as I remember the driver didn't pee hot. So deal with it, He made a bad choice doesn't mean he is a bad person, he wasn't a reckless driver, both vehicles weren't driving great. And I know the facts and everyone in his vehicle....

How do you know they were getting drugs? and what does that Hutchinson Hwy, have anything to do with where they were that day? Just curious.

fisherman-there's a very well know source of drugs on Hutch. hwy ... Hutch. hwy is roughly 2-3 miles north of Onaway out in the country and is a dirt road-nothing there to get lunch at. What does Hutch Hwy have to do w/ anything, uh it was where the accident happened!

JGG-let's use some common logic here ... if he was ON his way to the Splann-of course he wouldn't pee hot! duh! You don't pee hot if you are ON your way to get the drugs! No one said he was a "bad person" as you suggest, we're just all sick and tired of people who think that there is no such thing as consequences to actions! Not a reckless driver?? Um, nice try all of onaway and the kids in the car know other wise!

All the kids in Onaway, we aren't talking about kids here. Ha ha thats funny at least one of the kids who said that he was driving recklessly is a kid who broke into the Onaway Bar not this last summer but the summer before. And one of the others got out two months early from jail, oh and one of the other boys broke into the Onaway Bar as well spead clamida around Onaway... so that sounds like real believable people.... So I know more about this than you do and

It's pretty ridiculous that you all are so infatuated with this accident.. Do you have any idea how little you know? You know NOTHING.. None of you were there - you didn't see the driver speed or drive reckless, so why say that you know that he drives that way? As far as i've heard he doesn't have a history for reckless driving, so stop assuming. You don't know him as a person, but you assume that he woke up that morning and thought "I'm going to kill three people today.." Why be so ignorant? Nobody thinks like that.. And have you even thought for a second that maybe this has taken an effect on who he is as a person? Probably not.. But I believe that he's a good person, and I don't believe that any of you should be opening your mouths.. Are you perfect? Recall your past, i'm sure you made mistakes.. And you will continue to make more..
THAT'S LIFE.
So before you go on to insult someone who you've only 'heard' of, think about it..
He wasn't on drugs, his urine test was clean..
Just think about all of this..
And RIP to the three who were lost that day..

I didnt know there was such a place, out there to purchase drugs. It is to bad, such a place is allowed to exist if it does. One would think that also would have played a major factor in this tragedy. I do realize this is where the accident happened. I just did not know this stuff was going on out there.
This is really a tragedy, three lives gone,,, all of those kids lives involved. And does this place still exist? I would hope authories have taken this another step, and tried to stop this place from operating.

Fish, All places are aloud to exist in and around Onaway. The jail is full of people and the judges do not want to release violent criminals just to put in some potheads. Drug dealing is also an excellent way to make money, and collect welfare at the same time. For those who are addicted to a more expensive habit like the OPHS (Onaway pillhead society- a subculture) Dealing provides a way to stay high and make a little money. Because lets face it, nobody wants an employee who is losing teeth and is itching and scratching his face all the time. How can anyone from here not know this???

JGG,

Okay, now I see what you are saying. I am not (from) here, but have lived here for some time. It takes a tragedy such as this to open some eyes in the community such as mine. I guess no matter where you live, you cannot get away from this (subculture) any more.
It is sad ,,,, especially for all of those families involved in this.
