Thousands of people and almost nothing happens outside the church. It's all kept in house.

I have read these posts and some have nothing to do the original post. As I can see the brother going to police about child labor is a liar or the there is nothing that seems worth their time. Also the size of the singer is irrelevant to what you need to say, you can say the singer without mention to her size. If you have an ought with your brother go to him/her and if they don't hear you take another believer and if that doesn't work then take it before the body of Christ. Nothing in the scriptures says to vent online. Are there "cultish" tendencies there well yes, I can deny that. The Moses model for leadership is not N.T. model for leadership. You can have your "tithes" pulled from your account but you have to sign up for it. I personally don't do that because I don't believe that tithing is a N.T. practice. All said for this, There are 6 billion people in this world, what are we doing to make sure that they have a opportunity to hear about Jesus. They can't if we are on here being un-biblical. It's great to warn people of cults and ungodly leadership, but it can be done in love without hurting people.

Since the first time I attended a service under David McGee, I knew something wasnt right. My ex husband was convinced he was a fraud, fake, whatever. That the service (too long) was based more on worshipping him than God. You don't see pictures of Jesus, you see pictures of David. His books are sold in the cafe outside of church. That was over 5 years ago. I've been countless times. Seen my parents change ALOT. Theyve always been Christians but this is different and much more judging. I hated hearing stories of my parents with health issues having to clean toilet bowls just to become a member. That even though my mother had been baptized, it wasn't good enough for this church and they needed to make a public show out of it. I see so many people wandering there aimlessly hoping someone shows them the way and now that my folks are retired on a fixed income, they still give a HUGE amount to the church. They make you feel like if you don't give what they say to give, then you are doomed. It looks like a big production, lights camera action and he takes center stage while everyone bows at his feet. It doesnt feel good there. I'm relieved to see that others have picked up on this too and to me, all those here defending it just appear to still be brainwashed. I'd like to know what can be done to expose the truth about this place and it's pastor. I've met both him and Nora and heard both of them speak (at great length---both are very long winded) and David is nice enough but from the mascara and eyeliner to his manicure and jewelry, something is not right. My mom and I have been out and ran into Nora and she was critital of my mother's words when she was trying to explain how her tires got slashed IN the church parking lot. I'm sure I am not explaining this well at all but to hear back from others that have the same feeling would be fantastic. Not sure how to tell my parents (again) that something is really really wrong with that place. Everyone gets so defensive over it and no one listens to these concerns with an open mind. If this many people have experienced this many bad things, than someone has to do something. People are being taken advantage of.

I found this post and it grieved my spirit. This scripture came to mind. Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?""Neither, " he replied, "but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." Joshua 5:13-14a

There is nothing hidden from God. He sees all things. Therefore I pray:

May the Spirit of the Lord Jesus protect all that is of Him and may any and all the works of the enemy be exposed and destroyed. May those who have been hurt, be healed. Where there is lies and deceit may it be cut down and the truth of God in the light of Christ come forth. May God Himself bring all things under His judgment. May all the leaders and the body of Christ be subject to the transforming work of the Spirit removing pride and sin bringing forth humility and obedience to the work of the Spirit and the Word of God. May we be a people who learn to walk in love, truth, grace and unity of our Lord in these last days. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

I read all of these posts and I was literally in tears looking at all the lies. Pastor David is a godly man and there is no denying it. If you don't like the way things are done at the Bridge, leave quietly. No need to drag others who are being filled with God's spirit out as well. I am 16 yrs old and have been attending since I was 6 (back when it was Calvary Chapel) and I have never been to a more Biblically accurate church in my life. We are NOT a cult. We are NOT brainwashed. And we certainly are NOT worshipping our pastor. Side note his jeans really aren't that skinny and our "large" singer works her butt off in the gym trying to lose weight. Also, the children cleaning the bathrooms (me about 3 years ago) is called Sparkle. We are encouraged to serve in Sparkle before serving in any other ministry. I now am working in the children's ministry where the children are taught appropriately according to the age level. Praying for all of you who have been tempted by the devil to say such horrible things about a place so blessed by Jesus Himself.

Definately a cult, i think if u were to ask David McGee's own children, If u can find all of them, you would know this man is about himself & his money. Can't stand to see people take something that has such a great base like the Bible & use it to create their own empires and manipulate good people into handing over their hard earned cash. I wonder who Pastor Mcgee gives his 10% to, what amazing things is the church doing to give back to people? Why doesn't the church material have Jesus on it, instead of the wannabe rock star David Mcgee. Armed guards? Million Dollar home, repeated history of drug abuse and strange control of followers, drug addict daughter stripping (what % of strippers /drug addicts were molested as children?) I get the feeling there is a lot more shady business going on in this Church that we won't don't know about. I wouldn't let my kids be seperated from me under this guys leadership or armed guard enforced church rules. Watch out folks! Wolf in sheeps clothing.
I noticed you are from OK. When did you visit the Bridge and what was your experience? I am thinking of going to this church and I would like to read the articles you read that led you to your conclusion. In my search so far I haven't found any information other than on Greensboro Forum which unfortunately seems to be based on unfounded, judgmental posts. That's why your sources would be ever so helpful in my search for the truth. What church is the church you go to like?

I really like this church (The Bridge). I just started going and I am so thankful for being surrounded by a strong Christian fellowship. I can say that no one is perfect and people fall an d fail each day. Some people just aren't the best at providing customer service...I'm sorry this dialog started with a complaint but maybe the person that was offended may grow to forgive the individual that offended him/her and find peace in his/her heart.

Let me just say that I have never been so humiliated and shocked in my life. My girlfriend and I was standing and enjoying the morning service when a gentleman approached me and stated, "Is that your child? How old is he? I would like to talk to you in the hallway." We went in the hall and he stated that the rule was that if your not in the 5th grade, kids are not allowed in the adult worship session. I proceeded to tell him that my child wanted to stay with us. He said, "Im sorry that is the rules." I told him I did not agree with this nor did I like it. He took me to another gentleman standing with two others. I ask what was the reason for this rule. He stated, "not everything in the bible should smaller kids hear. I asked for an example and he stated, "HOMOSEXUAL Stuff". I told him that I wanted my kids to be educated on what the bible has to offer. He proceeded to tell me that, "If you arent able to follow this rule, there will be several rules down the road that you probably wouldn't obey either and that I should probbably find another church where I would be happier. I told him ok and we would leave. I went back into the service and asked my girlfriend and four kids and two friends that have been faithful on comming to church their since October 2011. And also my son who got baptized on January 1, 2012. We all got up and honest to GOD, we were escorted out of the church and the entire time was being watched by the same three gentleman that I was speaking with. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED IN SUCH A MANNER AS THIS IN ALL THE CHURCHES THAT I HAVE ATTENDED IN MY PAST 40 YEARS OF GOING. I simply as that everyone please be careful as to this cult acting activity. We enjoyed the church and Preacher, however the rules are 100% CRAZY!!!!!!!!..BODY GUARDS 24/7, ALSO TO THE DR. OFFICE VISITS WITH PASTOR REALLY......I DONT THINK THIS KIND OF ACTIVITY IS NOT HEALTHY OR POSITIVE TOWARD MY LORD. GOD LET THIS BE IN YOUR HANDS BECAUSE I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THIS.
I had a very similar experience. Under no circumstances would I send my young child to a seperate room before knowing what that church is about. Too many red flags at that church. I'm starting to be leary of churches with names that don't sound like a church ie; the bridge, crossing etc...

I attended a "water" day or fun day they had one summer and they were very critical of girls wearing swimsuits, which by all reasonable people is proper attire for a water day. There were church members playing in the water games fully clothed. That's odd. They claim not to be any denomination so pinning them down on anything is difficult.

I read the posts here and shake my head. Sometimes I laugh out loud.(Really, not just LOL)
The negative posters had a negative experience and walked away with a bad taste in their mouth that they are trying to share with the world via the net.
Others..... I don't know. I'm tempted to jump in here with both feet but that would just make me another negative, unhappy person.
Too often people join and church and want to be part of the club, the inner circle, the power behind the throne. They forget in a church that the power in the throne is God.
Church leaders have seen their share of looky-loos, con artists and wannabes. That is why they ask that you are faithful in service (like cleaning the church) and in tithing. They like to see you attending services, Bible studies and in small groups. They like to see you step forward and share your faith. Growing in the Lord takes time so you don't just walk into the church and become part of the 'inner circle'. Most of those folks have been around for years and still faithfully serve.
You go to your church and I'll go to mine. Just please don't keep talking trash under the cover of 'helping the church'. Want to cause trouble in a church? Ask people to pray for _______ because they are having a problem with _______.

I despise everything this "church" is for. They are so adamant on serving but not serving God.... Serving each other. There are sins being hidden depending on who you are... Guys in the bridge house smoking weed and no one says a word. There's a "deacon" who's marrying one of his former students.... At least a 10 year age difference. Everyone is brainwashed and all they know how to bring up is how you are
Causing "division" if you're not absent mindedly nodding and agreeing with everything. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GODFORSAKEN PLACE. If you visit and decide it's not for you, you're immediately deemed a sinner because you're not attending this hell on earth church.

You shouldn't be forced to clean toilets before you're allowed to serve. I'm also disgusted at how I was expected to serve AT THAT CHURCH.. Regardless of the serving I was doing outside of those walls.

You're very judgemental for one who doesn't like to be judged... But that's none of my business. I would like to point out though that I said we are 'encouraged' to do Sparkle, not 'forced.' Also Sparkle is not just cleaning toilets,(I personally never did) there is vacuuming, sweeping, organizing, etc. Lastly, you should serve at the church you are attending... Only makes sense.
