In Greensboro NC and all across the country, Trucking companies are hiring people to go over the road. Most of these are good jobs. Great pay and benefits. There is also job stability if you keep your record clean.
To get training only take a few months at the most. Davidson Community College is the cheapest place but you just missed this session for them.
There are other options available though. Some companies will even train. Just be advised that you will have to work for them for a year in exchange for the free training. Your pay will be a little lower there than other routes for entering the industry also.
I must be honest with you though, a career in trucking is not for everyone. You will be gone for 2 to 4 weeks at a time. After the first year, you might get a better situation and more pay.
If you are single it's a no brainer. You see the country and make money. Save money and just stay out on the road and drive.(at least that's what I did).
If you are in a relationships, you have to really think it though. The relationship needs to be strong and both individuals need to be mature, trustworthy and compassionate.
If you would like to learn more about trucking, I invite you to visit http://www.li feasatrucker. I am a local driver of 13 years. At the website we help you get off on the right track after helping you determine if you are compatible for the trucking lifestyle.
