"Sherman, 21, was reported missing in April of 2004, and his skeletal remains were found but not identified the next summer. Officials ruled his death a suicide due to the lack of evidence surrounding the case, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office said."
What a shame to say this young man was classified as suicide for his death. I remember from the article that survey people found and unidentified human remains tied to a tree that was just bones. How and why would anyone do that to them selves. I think suicide should not be place by that child name that only tells me police are going to stop searching for that killer or real reason of his death. I have many times wondered if they ever found out who the person was and wondered why the paper was not following up on it. I just thought it was going to be another store like the one in 87 or 1988 when a person was burned in a bath tub I never heard who got charged for that either. That area needs better investigator or get someone from another area that know what the heck they are doing to investigate crime scenes lack of evidence is lack of training for local law inforcement in small towns no wonder.

They are a joke, Sad tax payers are paying for them to serve and protect, when they can't even spell.

No, I am not the moron, you are. Winnsboro is in Wood County. Winnsboro has their own police department. This young man's remains were found OUTSIDE the city limits of Winnsboro, therefore making it a case belonging to the Wood County Sheriff's Department.

WCSO never took over Winnsboro P.D. and there was NEVER a lapse in police chiefs at Winnsboro after Hollingsworth was let go or resigned, whichever it was. I personally know the current Chief of Police in Winnsboro, the Lieutenant and the Sergeant at the Winnsboro Police Department, along with EVERY police officer on the payroll of the City of Winnsboro. So how can there be payroll at the Winnsboro Police Department if it was taken over by the Wood County Sheriff's Department.

Who's the ass clown now? I would say it's not me!

So you're saying that 5, which is more than half the department worked at WCSO? That's funny. There's only 2 officers at W.P.D. that worked as deputies at WCSO and that's the Chief and the Lieutenant and the LT. hasn't worked there since Bill Skinner was the sheriff of Wood County.

3 officers came from Hopkins; 1 came from Dallas County; 1 came from Red River County; 1 came from Oklahoma and challenged the state test; 1 got his start at W.P.D.

You really haven't got a clue what you are talking about and who you are responding to. If you were smart, which you're not, you'd quit responding about something you know nothing about.
