Rocky Hill is a great place to leave. People are very nice and very respectable of each other. The school system is great and there is alot to do.

Rocky Hill is awesome. They have there a great motocross track. There's a big motocross track, beginner track with no big jumps or anything, and everything is roll-able on it and then a quad track...its way to awesome to describe! http://www.ctmotocross.com/

I was suprised to see Rocky Hill ranked so high. We left Rocky Hill due to the school system and the lack of things to do and lack of places to shop.

Rocky HIll is a BORE! I live here and it's all about the school system---there's a great historic town center but there's not ONE coffee shop, boutique, nothing! DOn't even get me started on the blighted foundry property.

A BUNCH OF TOWN RESIDENTS ARE PETITIONING TO CLOSE THE MOTORCROSS SO YOU BETTER ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN. IT CREATES MAJOR NOISE POLLUTION AND IT'S A DISRUPTION TO NATURE.

The school system was awful. After dealing with a 3rd grade teacher at Stevens School we decided it was time to leave the town.

Yes I have seen what has happened at NHS this year. Since leaving Rocky Hill my kids have done great in school. They have not been abused by any teachers, can't say that about Stevens School. The stores on Berlin Turnpike are MUCH better than the stores on Silas Deane Highway, oh thats right there aren't any. You do have that wonderful Ames building though! I am glad we left and I surely don't miss it there.

Nope, not dealing with it. You're going to have to go ride your little bike someplace else.

We will see if your "petition" works stay tuned! If you take the track away, we will just ride in the Meadows in Wethersfield, maybe your backyard

Nah, just ride at the Ames parking lot. It's empty land that will stay that way just like the foundry did.

It's been a few years since I've been in school, but most of what I know I learned on my own. While I did have some great teachers, most of them were horrible and useless. Some even made a point to ruin my life over petty offenses while others got away with murder.
Too much traffic at rush hour, not enough roads to move around town. I would be scared to go ride my bike on the same streets I did as a kid because of the massive increase of traffic in town.
With so much to do, how come I was constantly bored when growing up and about the only activity I could find was to ride my bike (sometimes out of town), or go to the Quarry or Ferry.
With so much to do, how come now as an adult, the best thing I could come up with to do on the weekends is to go to downtown Hartford or New Haven?
Rocky Hill is good if you like to shop for mediocre mass produced junk in corporate stores.
Rocky Hill is good if you go to sleep at 9PM and have no nightlife.
Rocky Hill is a ghost town after dark. With cops lurking looking for somebody to pick on. Good luck to that fellow who had 1 beer too many on his way home.
They completely destroyed the woods I used to play in as a kid to build that Khols, meanwhile, Ames sits empty for years.
When hiking through Dinosaur State Park as a kid with my mother, we came upon big dirt mounds at a bit construction site. Now Loctite. Even more of those woods at the rear side of this so called "state park" have been destroyed to make way for some other TV media whatever building.
And would it kill some of these corrupt political types running this town to put a little bit of money to properly repair some of these ugly, aging side streets and roadways?
Every bit of of vacant land is being turned into a 55 and over community, or some mass produced cookie cutter home. All in the name of tax dollars that we never see.
I can go on and on. I've been here for a while and have seen the town change.

Does anyone know what that noise is in Rocky Hill? I don't even know how to explain it, it's super loud, and occurs almost everyday around noon. It also occurs randomly throughtout the afternoon and night... is it some type of alarm or something?

That really loud Honk thing that could be heard for miles? I've lived in RH my whole life and know that sound from growing up. It's some sort of Fire Department horn or something. I have no idea what purpose it serves.

nope, the meadows are privately owned so you can't do that...if necessary, i will be down there everyday calling 911. you really must be a wastoid. you feel comfortable w/ potentially running over some kid so you can ride your motorbike in the meadows? how selfish.

I don't think my dogs would like you in their backyard....especially with your noisy little bike. btw, you can't ride your motorbike in the meadows unless of course you find it appealing to run over a family taking a walk in the woods?? Yeah, you're a real tuff guy.
