I was told that trick-or-treating would be on Sat. night before rather than on Halloween due to it falling on Sunday. Does anyone know when the children will go trick-or-treating?

The Rockwood Merchants are hosting a trick or treating downtown that Friday night 5:00-7:00 before the Rockwood ballgame. I don't know when the official trick or treating is.

To parent: I don't see a problem with the way you asked. It seems like on topix everyone just wants to cause turmoil. I am also waiting a reply to your posting. Thanks for posting.

city council stated at meeting hours are Saturday 6 to 8pm. merchants will give candy in town and bands and costume contest in homecoming park at same time. fun marketed to all ages this year not just the little ones.

The Saturday event is a fund raiser for the band sponsored by a different group. The Rockwood Merchants Association is having its trick or treat downtown Friday from 5-7 before the football game.

I do not understand why the merchants would not give out candy during the city halloween hours? My family enjoyed that last year and I guess will attend the band thing this year.

It could be because most downtown businesses aren't open that late on the weekend.

I think it's great that the merchants give do this, it's that extra something that makes you proud to live in Rockwood.
