This is a subject only to to touch bases on our community not to act immature and ridiculous. I would love to hear ideas and concerns to make Rockwood a better place for our children, thank you.

Great post. Thing Globally, Act Locally - I think is the old saying. Perhaps this forum can be an outlet for ideas from those of us who have no ties or ambitions in politics, I only hope this reaches the right people to make it happen...

Here's an idea for an easy spending cut.... Stop buying chrome rims, trim, tinted windows and leather seats for our police, fire and EMS vehicles. Some of the flashiest vehicles on the roads in Roane County have sirens on them. I don't begrudge our public servants a safe and comfortable work environment, but these items add NO functionality or performance, just fluff $$$ that is better spent elsewhere.(schools!) I'm sure the official reply would be that these items were added as part of a "package" but I'm asking if we really need said package.

I agree they do however need very well maintenance vehicles and comfortable cause they are always on the road they do alot for elderly and sick and injured. The city needs to do more for our city workers they don't feel appreciated not only for them but this are people we voted in they should do more for the community if they care then they should show it after all that's why they ran for office in first place

...there is an old grave memorial/giant gravestone in the middle of a smallish partially kept up park or early cemetary off FaceyStreet behind N KingstonAve that might make a nicer town attribute had it more regular mowing in the spring&summer, and a few benches or something to encourage it to be a useful but pleasant&pretty public access. I knw there is a crumbly sort of steps on 1 end but they R prob more dangerous 2 use thn anything... It would make a nicely situtated small park & we have so many kids n town out in the evenings.

No more subsidized housing. New people running for local office. More people turning out to vote.

I totally agree with new politics and people getting out to vote STRONGLY and about the grave yard there are possibly remains there and that's why they won't do nothing with it sad but respectful but I do agree we need things for our children and kids growing up and we wonder why kids do so many bad things cause they have nothing to do time for a change

This is about Rockwood not the County. We need more things for our kids and grandkids to do than just hanging around on the street, or the skating rink, like an arcade with age restrictions, hobby shop where boys can make model cars or girls can make pretty things.

I would say looking upon Christ, but that would get dismissed on here.

But I'll say it anyway.

Good jobs. Each of us being good men, women and parents every day. Get involved in our community. Care about our neighbors. And send the good old boys packing.

I like all the ideas guys I agree more for our children and grand kids. Kids have nothing to do I think we should get a program started brought up to the city council and push for these ideas our voices need to be heard before its to late. But most importantly the news of god needs to be spread upon our community violence is everywhere and our kids are right dab in the middle of it.

More antique stores that keep us looking back. More pizza places and maybe another liquor store. More junkyards and abandoned buildings. Maybe one more yard sale looking setup on a street corner. Maybe another nasty looking tattoo shop so unsavory people can greet those that come across the railroad track. These are the things that have worked so far so get more.

Manufacture some Cyanide pills shaped like Roxies. Fill a few bottles up with them. Leave the bottles in random public places. Watch the magic happen

First-Elect people who really care about our town. Those that want our children to have a safe place to meet. The REC center down town is a great place to have meetings, parties that are parent supervised, music and dancing. Second- elect people that want to bring in industry, high paying jobs, not more low-income -government housing. Take pride in our communities, our schools, our city employees.Third-Elect people that really care about the growth of our town, not those that only have the attitude of what's in it for me. This has been going on to long, when I grew up here many years ago, there were three movie theaters, two dime stores, clothing stores, meat markets, pool halls, this town was was booming. then the city changed, people became more self-centered, and we lost out. We have got to get a new group of people to run for office that have a vision of growth, jobs, pride. The old saying "if you build it they will come" is sure worth a try.

. You can't just turn that into a park... That is an actual grave yard. Yes it does have Giant tombstone in the middle with a lot of names.. the names are the people buried there. It's done like that due to they are all un marked graves.. but the city or a group of people could do some things to make it look a whole lot better!!!
