Has anyone had any problems at walmart?

I have had a few, but this one really tops it off. I ordered my son his first year birthday cake. The cake was an elmo cake.
I had went and got him elmo shoes, clothes, party supplies everything elmo to match the cake. So I go to pick up the cake the day of his party and the woman comes out with the cake. ITS BIGBIRD!!!! So I say this is not the cake I ordered. She says yes it is. I said no I ordered an elmo cake. And I sit and look at the cake a min and she says well are you going to get the cake or not, I have things to do. I said I guess not (because of the tone she had gave me) She rolled her eyes and stomped back into the kitchen while mumbling something, I could not hear.
If I was not in a hurry I would have complained to the manager. But I had to get to Kroger to get another cake for my sons party.

It seems although Walmart has lost its respect. When I worked there is was costomers are NUMBER ONE! And the costomer is always right. What happen to that rule?

I would had never treated someone the way she treated me.

I went to Walmart Sunday, last minute to purchase a birthday cake. I picked one out and saw a lady decorating and tried to get her attention. She just ignored me. I was pretty much saying excuse me can you help me. She totally ignored finally another worker came over and asked if she could help me. It was like the lady decorating did not care and was about to stop what she was doing. So yes, the Wal-Mart bakery has some real problems going on.

Every retail store, or any place that works with or for the public has customer service issues. Can't make everybody happy. I have never had a problem with service at Wal Mart. But I have had friends who have. But to get on here and complain is childish. Wal Mart has many different managers which will hear out any formal complaints. If your not satisfied with their answers you can always call the customer service number posted on the wall in the store.

Well all this is very true about Walmart it is not Walmart anymore its lets see how big ours stores get and how fast we can destroy the towns of America. I have had so many problems out of those stores, so that I decided a few yrs ago i will never go back into one and 2 yrs latert I havent even been in the parking lot I shop at family stores and have better merchandise that actually will last along time and it may cost a lil more but the family owners and workers that run the stores are so much friendlier and they know you buy name when u come in and you tell them what u need and they will drop everything to help you. Walmart is just High School kids running around lost not knowing what is what anymore. So I will always agree with down with Walamrt and all other corps. that come in to cities and destroy the downtown home owned and run stores.

It sounds like an honest misunderstanding. I don't in anyway believe your intention was to not pay for the chicken, you just became occupied with going to purchase another item before checking out.
As for the person who was rude to you. I definately would file a complaint about her unprofessional behavior. You don't have anything to lose by logging a compliant. You don't mention what actually happen. I assume since your background check came back they just let you go. Customer service is important no matter how large, look at comcast they are constantly now after so many compliants aimed at improving thier customer service/care.

i know i quit going to walmart,i was a twice a week shopper and had a guy in produce that helped me with anything i needed in the store,my eye's arent as good as they used to be and he really helped me out alot,my wife has been sick for 5yrs now and if it wasnt for that great guy in produce i would have had alot of problems finding things,i found out they fired him from some of his co-workers in some the surrounding area's of the store of something very stupid, for what all the guy was going through anyway i thought,i found one of the managers in the store one day and asked about him and even the manager thought he was done crappy, well i shop with kroger now, maybe one day i hope to see the fellow again, wished i knew where he was working now because thats where i would be,he had concern with customers and not only helped them find items they needed but if you had a bad day or in my case he always asked about my wife and that made me feel so great,i always look forward to seeing him and thats why i dont go back into the store anymore, its been since feb 17th and i hope i never set a foot back in the door again, walmart you lost a good employee, but its your loss and it will be somebody else gain,i should had quit going when they fired that poor door greeting person about 3yr ago, walmart has went really bad, guess they dont need good employees that care for us,just hire anybody, just like the girls in the bakery that turn the back on you or like some those workers you ask where something was and they ignore you and turn and do their speed walk away from you, well i hope everybody gives kroger a chance, since i been going there i have been treated well, they have some good people to,i rather spend a extra five bucks on my shopping bill, god bless everybody and i had to just put my two cents in

I have had problems with the Walmart bakery also. But I understand that everyone and every store can make mistakes. The key to getting what you want is to speak up and be very specific about what you want. And if you have a problem, keep your cool and explain the problem calmly. When I had problems there the people were very quick to resolve them. And It isn't difficult at all to change a cake from big bird to elmo. The people in the bakery have always been very nice and helpful. And to the people who were being followed, the loss prevention people only follow you if you are being suspicious and look like you are stealing, Not for a child eating chicken. My children have eaten chicken, donuts, chips, etc. while shopping in walmart, but we always pay for them and have never had any problems with that. You must have been doing something else that caused them to believe you were trying to steal. And I agree, Ken is an arrogant jerk, but Walmart is great.
