Shenanigan's Will Feature Go-Karts, Bowling and Full Service Bar and Restaurant

Published on April 02, 2008 at 9:49am
While the Hilton Bella Harbor resort retail/spa/haute nosh complex takes shape on the western side of Rockwall along the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard, the east side will bloom a resort of its own. Parker Coddington, whose background is in commercial construction, will erect a 75,000-square-foot "family entertainment center" in a defunct industrial cable manufacturing facility near the intersection of Interstate 30 and Highway 205. He calls it Shenanigan's, a giant under-one-roof megaplex, featuring 7,000 square feet of gaming space, an indoor go-kart track, 24 lanes of "lounge-style" bowling, and a full service restaurant and bar, mostly likely to be called Rosie Maloney's. Maloney's will feature wood-fired pizzas, salads, burgers and fresh house-cut French fries.

www.shenaniganz.com is the website. The website is still being worked on, but the hours for those interested are 11 to midnight Sun-Thurs and 11-1am on Friday and Saturday. If you would like information on parties you can email the event planner at events@shenaniganz.com.

Topix doesn't allow the posting of phone numbers but go www.shenaniganz.com and call the number listed for Group Events. Listen to the voicemail message for their direct number.

The place is really nice, but has way too many problems. The restaurant was ok, but the service was horrible. They have many kinks with the bowling, rock climbing and game room.

Went Saturday night. Restaurant was good, service was great (look for guy with Mohawk), kids loved the games, Bowling is expensive. 35.00 an hr for a lane plus 4.00 shoes. Z Lounge looks cool, but is 45.00 hr for lane. Mixed drinks were not good. Lots of kids (teens)hanging out. Gokarts weren't going yet -end of January or so. Didn't' do laser tag.

The place is absolutely fantastic. I took the whole family there and had a great time!!! The owners and staff are all very endearing and really go to great lengths in order to ensure complete customer satisfaction and a uniquely entertaining experience. The food was great too! I would definitely recommend this establishment to any and all who are looking for a fun place to take the kids, girlfriend, or friends!

It'll do fine with alcohol sales during sporting events as long as they run specials.

Why would someone pay $1.25-$4.00 a game when they could go to Chuck E. Cheese and pay 25 cents a game? This place will only attract the birthday crowds. I don't see it lasting out the year, especially when the economy is doing so poorly.
