I'm no expert in business, but am I missing something with the harbor? They can't seem fill all of their vacant spaces. I know several places closed due to inability to pay rent (blue canyon, paradise burger, etc). One would think that the harbor owners would lower the rent and get more businesses in there rather than keeping it high and driving business out. An empty store space doesn't earn any money.

You are right, the Harbor has become a BIG bust, nothing stays long, and it has become a place for parents to drop off their ill-behaved children and drunks. Such a shame to have let this happen.

Agreed! It would be nice to have variety of restaurants and more shopping in the Harbor.

You can thank Bill Cecil for that fiasco. He pushed financing it with a huge amount of money from taxpayors. Guess who lost?

Who funds the redc.... Taxpayers. They just begged for more money again.

Thy can't lower rent as the agreements would mean they have to lower rent at the anchor tenants due to favorable customer pricing. Hence vacancy over filled spots.

Once more for the no named respondent. REDC is funded By sales tax. It was voter approved long ago. It is true it is taxpayer money but the REDC gets only what is raised. The city gives no money to the REDC and your assertion that they begged for more money is another deception from a no named person who wishes to hide and comment but remain anonymous. Identify yourself and be accountable. If you do not I will no longer stoop to your level.

Prove it. What you are stating is a bold faced lie. The money comes from the REDC. Talk is cheap!

Come on Glen, you know where the REDC receives it's money, City and Taxpayers. You, Margo, Bill worked out the second phase behind closed doors, knowing Scott would be there to vote for it. If it isn't bankrupt, then why is a bank holding it? Come on, the voters saw through you and you were really beat by Sweet.

Well not only is the rent high that can't keep businesses there but the parking SUCKS!!!! They need to redo that whole mess. Other businesses that are setting up else where like downtown Rockwall or other similar locations seem to be doing pretty good right now. And it's also nice not to put up with the headache of trying to find parking at the Harbor. Not sure who designed that crappy parking there but they didn't do a good job.

It was probably the same bunch that designed the athletic fields that now say new fields need to be built because there is not enough parking. Can you say "Contracts"?

It really is such a shame that the taxpayers were one again bamboozled by the Whittles and Cecil and the rest of his cohorts. This could have been a coup for Rockwall but has turned into a disater for us. The parking is horrendous and you never now what is in business or not. We went out on Scott's boat the other night with company and had to walk what seemed a mile from parking...without paying...while the boat was great, we are not young and this was ridicoulus!Too many easy access places in Rockwall to frequent.

Better Rockwall in what way? you stole millions from contractors and vendors who never got paid because you found a way out thanks to the corrupt legal system and good ole boy network.( take a look at the numerous lawsuits and count how many got "dismissed" you have .multiple bankruptcies but somehow seem to emerge only to. do it all over again. First of all that is not the REAL Rob Whittle that posted above, he would not have the guts to do so..every subdivision or business venture has been a screwup, then there is the Harbor and now he is trying to get another golf course development in Heath, people are sick and tired of his screw ups and screw overs..his many bankruptcy's, his convenience divorces to get out of paying for something...he is a first rate crook...in the meantime, we as taxpayers are stuck with his bills...when will both cities ever learn he is nothing but a crook and liar.
