My family and I are looking to move to Rockwall from Dallas over the summer. I have two boys, ages 8 and 3. I was wondering if I can get information in regards to which subdivision would be great for a family, Schools, Daycares and any other information that can be useful.

I don't have any expert advice to give you, but I live in the neigborhood in the Virginia Reinhardt school district & it's awesome. I love the school for the most part - and the neighborhood is really safe. There is also an Neighborhood Walmart in the area & it's close to the old downtown & new city hall - which is where several events & the farmers market are held during throughout the year.

Hello, we live in Rockwall in a great neighborhood (Lofland Farms). I have a 10 and 4 yr. old. The elementary school is right across the street. Our development has a great pool and lots of kiddos. I found some land south of town and am looking at building a house on it, so we are getting ready to put our house up for sale by owner. If this interests you let me know. To give you an idea, our house is 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage, 2220 square ft. I have added wood floors and a big covered patio in the back. I will be asking about $180,000 for it. These are DR Horton homes in this subdivision. If you are looking for custom homes, look up Buffalo Creek - that is the largest community out here with upscale homes. Others are: The Shores, Stoneleigh, Fontanna Ranch is a new one. The closer you get to downtown Heath, the higher the prices are per sq.ft. We bought our home new in 2004, and we love it. Rockwall is a great place to raise a family.

My husband and I live in Lakeside Village which is in the Reinhardt school zone and we love it. It is small and gated and centrally located. Minutes from the Harbor and other great spots. As you come across the lake from Dallas, it is the neighborhood on the left side of the bridge with all of the red tiled roofs. These homes hold their value better than any neighborhood in Rockwall. It only took my realtor a month to sell my townhome in LV so that we could upgrade.

Thank you all for your reply! I will write down the communities that you have told me and start my research. Our price range is under 200k but I love to stay near to highways and shopping.

If you need a realtor, do yourself a favor and call Nancy Jennison. She is with Coldwell Banker and helped us purchase our first home and we have used her for every transaction since. You can find her on Coldwell's site. She's familiar with all of the subdivision in Rockwall. She's very honest and trustworthy.

My child goes to Grace Hartman. We just moved into the shores. Before that he went to Celia Hays. Both are amazing schools. I think any school in Rockwall will be good. I went to Dobbs growing up and have friends with kids their now, as well as at Reinhardt and Pullen. Rockwall schools are all exceptional.

You can find several homes in that price range, especially with the market still being relatively low. And with rockwall just about everything is close to highways and stores. I live close to the YMCA and it's only about 5 minutes to the freeway. Reinhart is a great school. I went there when I was younger and my little brother attends there now. Everyone is very friendly and a lot of parents who are really involved with the school activities. Children's learning center is a good daycare with a great caring staff. It is not a chain daycare. If you want one of the chains, you might try Children's Lighthouse on 205 or I think there is another one on 66 by the Neighborhood market

There is no other place than the Amy Parks school. Continual excellent ratings, property value is Heath remains high, better than Rockwall's, and the views are terrific. World's of difference in Heath than in Rockwall.

A world of difference? Really? Rockwall has as many fake bobbed soccer Moms as Heath, plus the same developer that screwed up the Harbor, Sunset Cove, Buffalo Creek, and now he wants to build another yacht club cum golf course on the south side!

Welcome to Stepford, ya c¥ nt

Are you a former athlete? I have heard all over Heath "She can't wrestle, but you should see her box!"

That is the problem with Rockwall...all you "OLD" farts need to move on so that we can bring this town into the 21st century. Old Rockwall is not something to be proud of. It was an ugly, dusty and dirty town that was on its way out. The sooner you "Old Timers" figure out you are no longer relavant the better.
