It is modeled after the Capital in Austin. He must have pictured himself in a cushy office, sitting in his high chair with a finger on the Hot Button. What could possible be wrong with building the court house on a far less expensive location and also just enough to do the job, much like the federal government built the post office in Rockwall. It is not a voters responsibility for an employee of this county to have a lavish office or mahogany walls. Get a grip with reality Commissioners. You are not demi-Gods. You were hired to work for the county. No one promised you a luxury suite for an office, just enough to get the job done.
Yeah...Lets put in a couple of double wides. That would be just right for you old farts from old Rockwall.

How could any politician agree to such wasteful spending. We (Voters) never promised them (politicians) a rose garden! Where is there conscience? All we need is an adequate courthouse. Not some grand capital rotunda.

It's easy. Buildings come with contracts. Contracts come with money to politicians. Ask old Beaty and his wife if this has ever happened. They will look at you with shock and horror on their faces. Maybe might have to take another birthday bash trip.

Where's the little judge? He built this monument to himself and he won't be able to sit in it. Good for Rockwall!!!We showed him what voters want!

Sad thing is, the Commissioners held a public meeting on this, and only a dozen people attended, and only 4 people took the podium to address the matter. When 12 people show up for a meeting that should've been packed by hundreds, it gives the impression no one cares - Translation: Is anyone really watching?

There's still no excuse for this courthouse fiasco.

Most of the workshops and meetings are scheduled during the day when most people are at work so as to not be bothered by the opinions of those pesky citizens that they do not want to hear from anyway. Any meetings scheduled scheduled at night are done so very quietly so as to not to attract attention. If I remember correctly, the Commissioners and tiny judge do not give a damn what the citizens want on the new courthouse. If you remember they were told NO for the new courthouse and then told NO AGAIN even louder. So what makes you think that they want input from the citizen? They want to operate in a vacuum without interference from the voters. The voters care, but do the Commissioners?

Seeing that they haven't actually broken ground on this grand palace they are calling a "courthouse", it's entirely possible that the new county judge could order the project halted and come up with something else. Who are they kidding with this? It looks like it would fit right in in Las Vegas! I now see why others have asked where is the bar and the stripper pole!

I like the "double wide" proposal the best. On the other hand does anyone really think the "court house" people care anything about what the general public thinks. Just tax the people a little more and build what we want.

One vote from the whoever judge will not stop this courthouse plan. Thanks to all the commissioners, it has passed and now the new judge can not stop it. A massive Taj Mahal for the crooks and else to be tried in this county. What is wrong with just a bldg. that is adequate, but not palatial? Why not on a less expensive piece of property? The tiny judge that pushed this plan wanted something to be his namesake. He got it alright. One Term Flowrinse.

What difference does it make who shows up or how many? This judge and commission ignored the voice of the people twice so why waste one's time showing up at commissioner's court? The people are digusted with this bunch and CJ 199 is not going to be the last one shown the door down there.
