I am a truck driver and got sick of fast food places and normally cook in the truck but wanted to try texas bbq-hard to do in a semi BUT I found a soulman's in terrell-wonderful place! So in love with it been looking for others when I come to texas. Was looking for some by houston but after reading these reviews I'm not so sure anymore~maybe I'll just hope for another delivery to terrell.

I'll agree with any of the posts comparing the Rockwall and Royse City locations. They are like night and day. I remember when the one in Royse City opened up and after just one meal it was my favorite BBQ restaurant. I've been to the one in Rockwall only once and it was awful. The food just seemed low quality, the people seems low quality, and the service seemed low quality. I wish all of you that have tried the Rockwall location would compare it to the Royse City location before you pass judgement too harshly. There's now one in Greenville that is good too, including their service.

Kitty, just to let you know. Early on, the one in Royse City had a big ol black guy (you can't trust a skinny cook) that cooked the meat and he was fantastic. He was hysterical and friendly and he would seriously load you up with all the meat that plate could handle. I don't think he's still there but maybe next time you are in the area try the better restaurant; it's only 15 mins East.:)

nope, you're wrong here
Don took over 250K and said "f 'em" in my opinion
I don't give a rats as about the places, I just don't like death bed Jesus converts

Sweetie, if you want people to take you seriously, please use proper grammar. I could use a red pen all over your post.

Soulman's does not mean urban.

It is very clear that you are a racist. Sad.

In a separate post I will also share:

We really enjoy Soulmans. We do not care for Dickey's at all, Sonny Bryan's is okay, but over-priced for what it is and Springcreek just isn't good. We loved Coulters when they were around, but this is now our favorite.

The customer service is good, the food is wonderful and always fresh and they always accommodate.

Haters are going to hate, but the rest of us know good BBQ.

Thanks Zorro. That's right up the road. I will have to get over there. Thanks again.
I dont think Richards has opened yet however my friend just opened
a BBQ place about 8-9 miles out 276. Larry is the owner and does great BBQ too. The Tornado just missed his new place by a few hundred feet, he supplied food for all those families wiped out accross the street and could use any new customer suport

soulman's is owned by thieves, he (Don Hallet) screwed some former partners out of a bunch of money
Now that he's getting older he claims to have found Jesus,
But he hasn't paid his old partners back
In my opinion
Hmm I know the owner and he has never had any partners lmao where does everyone come up with this crap I have been to dickeys to get half the food I would get from Soulmans Y'all all are weird

I have only been to the one in Royse City and would NEVER go out of my way to eat there. No one was rude but the food was luke warm and lacked flavor. I'm not bashing them, it just not good to me.

Nope, they are all owned by the same guy, Don Hallett. He is semi retired, has a guy acting as district manager
Rockwall Soulmans = Epic Fail
They are all owned by Don, but it's a family business. Not every Soulman's is bad. Even though I've worked there and I can't stand the place because the manager was out to get me, it was a nice place to work and the food is AMAZING at the one in Van. Just letting you know so you won't assume they are all as terrible as the one in Rockwall :) God Bless!
