I'd love to know how much the new lights being installed at 600 E Gude are costing the taxpayers. A huge number of workers & equipment have been working on this process. I've seen as many as 14 workers at one time, many of them standing around watching while a couple men actually work.

As I understand, the light is only for pedestrians want to cross to the homeless shelter. Automobiles & trucks wishing to cross Gude will continue to have a very dangerous situation at this intersection

The reason why the crossing is being improved is the amount of injuries homeless residents received while jay walking. They can't seem to figure out basic traffic/pedestrian law.

Money is no object to Mont. CTY or The City of Rockville as are crew sizes. Your tax dollars at work.

They used to HAVE a light there! Will they get rid of it and reinstall it again?!?!? How much is this costing us taxpayers?? I hope it's not too much or I'LL have to live in that shelter!

Yes, there was indeed a light at one time. When the landfill closed it as deemed "unneccesary" and removed. Now all the truck traffic leaving the lumberyard, stoneyard, and other business's in that block have to dangerously clog up the intersection to get across.

FYI, the signal ONLY stops traffic on Gude. Vehicle egress from the intersection does NOT have a light.
There is, however, a newly installed (Friday) Stop SIGN for vehicles.
Fat lot of good that is going to do.
I guess we have to wait for a vehicle on vehicle traffic death before anyone takes notice of the situation.

So it's only a stop light for Gude?? How will the traffic leaving the shelter and lumber/stone yards know when it is safe to go? Another stupid decision, just like that mess at Montrose! Who the hell is responsible for these ideas????? I want some names!

The pedestrians have a "walk / don't walk" display, pointed in such a way that it is only visible to pedestrians in the general vicinity of the cross walk. Vehicles have no such luxury.
I can not even begin to tell you how many man & machinery hours have gone into this "project". I'd love to know the actual cost to the public of this ridiculous taxpayer expenditure.

But he will be re-elected. Liberal politics as usual.

Was anybody able to find out what the light cost us?

Yep, gotta keep on spending money on the hobos and Hobo Junction. Have you ever driven in there? It's an extensive development for all those sex offender hobos that live there. Legitimizing that putrid existence.

One of the owners of the lumberyard located at the light informed me the cost was around $100K.

The number of vehicular accidents at the intersection continues to grow almost weekly.
