I just don't understand how I went to Catholic school for twelve years and never got wind of any abuse. I just can't believe all this happened.

My husband and I have been bringing our boat over to Coecle's Harbour once or twice a season for 22 years. We "discovered" the St Gabriel's mass on the grass during our very first visit. The mass was always the highlight of our visit, the beauty and spirtual moment usually moved me to tears. We were so saddened during to hear the news during our recent visit. I too will miss Father Chris and his corny jokes....but miracles are real....I will keep St Gabriel's, Father Chris and the wonderful staffand parishioners in my prayers

St Gabriels Youth Retreat has always wanted
only the best for it's teens, who have come from
Brooklyn, Manhattan, Long Island, New jersey and
over 100,00 teens have made three day retreat
programs at St. gabriels, Shelter Island. In all
those years there has never been an injurious
accident for a teen on retreat. Every teen who
made the program left a better person, and often
A MUCH BETTER CATHOLIC.
IF EACH CATHOLIC ON LI GAVE $1 A YEAR
A MIRACLE COULD OCCUR AT ST GABRIELS..
tHE POPE ONCE SAID " IN YOUTH WE HAVE
PLACED ALL OUR HOPE FOR THE FUTURE", DON'T OUR
TEENS DESERVE ST. GABRIELS TO HELP THEM GROW INTO
GREAT PERSON, AND GOOD PRACTICING CATHOLICS.
PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SAVING OF ST GABRIELS

had some great times there on numerous retreats for youths. Also worked there for a summer in the kitchen with Brother Dominic serving the youth retreats. Fond memories of blue fishing in the sound and clamming in the bay, all to be prepared by Brother for meals that night. Great smoked blue fish by the pool overlooking the bay. Many nights spent sitting on the dock and thinking about life. Met many friends there over the years, and was strengthened in my faith by the many priests and brothers of the Passionist order who directed the retreats there for so many years. This is a shame that this place has met this fate, i only wish I had the money to keep it open. Thanks St Gabes
