It seems like everyone has a gun in their car. And not shy about using them. Very scary!

I used to live right by there and what's sad about Citrus Heights is that it SHOULDN'T be so crime-infested and ghetto, but it is. Are people really so bored in California that carrying weapons and starting fights is the only way to get through the day? People sadden me.

Ok everyone is missing the whole point, Badguys have vehicles, they are mobile... does not mean they live in the area.. also remember the old saying "Live by the sword die by the sword".. rarely do regular people get shot or shot at for that matter.. there is a live-style that causes these things to happen to some people. There are few victims and more willing members engaged in a similar life style, although it does happen to regular folks, the odds are against it in most cases.

Whoa, I use to not live anywhere near where this happened, ha! Why is it every time something happens people start popping up in these forums saying they know him/her, or that's my cousin, or I live around the corner from where this happened, etc. Damn liars....

Why is it that just about every time you post your comments are bellicose and angry?

I drove through Citrus Heights the other day an noticed a lot of vacant properties along Sunrise Blvd. I read an article two weeks ago about how San Juan School District has become dilapidated and poor performing. Today I see this shooting and it makes me begin to wonder if Citrus Heights is in a state of decline.

I'm not trying to be critical, I am more wondering if Citrus Heights' recent incorporation as a city has been a contributing factor to any of these problems.

I think what we are witnessing is a decline in the Sacramento region as a whole. It started in the City proper and now it is spreading outwards. So far the worse is happening in Sacramento County but it will soon spread to Placer, El Dorado, etc. Just give it time.

Puhleeaaaseee...it doesn't matter where you are in the County, you can become a victim of a crime. Who said any of these people live in Citrus Heights? Everyone and their uncle drive through on Greenback. Oh and if you think 10yrs as a city is recent then you are much older than you sound and should be much wiser.
