I have been in Roseville for 16 years and the story I heard is this poor woman had a child that she loved but was not able to care for and the C.P.S. took the child, for years she pushed a stroller around, then a few years ago she no longer had the stroller. Our system is so broke that many people who can not help themselves get no help at all. Not everyone has someone that will stick with them for the months and possible years it now takes to get mental health care.

The woman at the park has one heck of a back story. she does in fact have a home, and children (adult). But she wont go home because of the tragic death of her husband. She wont go to her home cuz it reminds her of her lost love. every so often one of her children will find her and have her in to shower and eat. she doesnt trust anyone.

My Husband and I used to help her a lot. we would always drop off something cold to drink during the hottest days of summer and would give her a few bucks now and then. we were homeless for awhile a few years ago and people that helped us ask us to to return the favor when we got on our feet. and I never felt bad about helping her because each time I have talked to her I never smelt alcohol and she never seemed to be on drugs. She even told me that she does not consider herself homeless. Oh and I did find out from a friend that is homeless that he takes showers at the salvation army that she does use the men's shower. If she was a threat to anyone am sure the cops of roseville would have ran her out of town. anyway just remember that we could be 1 paycheck away from being in her shoes. I used to work at the AMPM on douglas and harding and would always see her walk threw the lot but I never seen her panhandling.

Do you expext a reasonable person to believe you went "homeless" for 1 full year because your roomate stole your checkbook? Didn't you have another paycheck coming in a week or 2? Oh, you probably didn't have a job. Be honest with yourself and tell the whole story. You were living like you were do to choices you made in the past. Why didn't your family help you? Did you alienate them sometime in the past?

I think you are assuming everyone has parents probably like yours, who are made of money. Many people have no one to turn to when things get real. And just because you have a job doesn't mean you're entitled to having the park the way you want it. You're not anymore special that she is, and I doubt your're contributing anything really useful to society. Be honest with yourself.

Yes, her name is Erica and she had been staying at the shelter. She is ok and for those of you who are curious; she showers with the other women there. As for tax payers who have a problem with them, most of the homeless you see were working citizens, had homes, and then the economy went to pieces. For the ignorant people out there WAKE UP!! IT COULD BE YOU, IT'S A PAYCHECK, AN UNEXPECTED TURN IN YOUR LIFE.....THAT'S ALL IT TAKES. WHERE WOULD YOU GO WITH NO MONEY, BROKE FRIENDS, FAMILY WONT HELP; suddenly you're a loser, a piece of crap with nothing ( maybe the clothes on your back) if you're lucky. If you live in a GLASS HOUSE DON'T THROW STONES!! WE ARE ALL GOD'S CHILDREN. YOU SAY "NO WAY BUT IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE. I worked for 15 years until one day budget cuts hit the company, and they hired two "PART TIME" people to do my job for min. wage, no benefits. I lost my job, health insurance, life insurance, and when the savings/ 401 ran out I lost my home. I was homeless, couldn't get a job without an address not to mention no transportation. So I say to you; Don't judge for only the Lord has the right to judge. After all, WE ARE ALL GOD'S CHILDREN.
