Soon, Space Coast golf cart commuters may motor -- legally -- along two well-traveled, scooter-centric corridors.

2nd Annual Reality Check Program Golf Outing

The Reality Check Foundation presents the Second Annual Reality Check Program Golf Outing which will take place Saturday, August 8th, 2009 at Viera East Golf Club at 2300 Clubhouse Drive, Viera, Florida. This is a fun filled event for kids ages 11 – 18 to play golf with an adult mentor. The event will include a golf clinic, nine holes of golf, putting contest, longest drive contest, closest to the pin contest, banquet, awards ceremony and door prizes. 18 teams of 3 kids each will be teamed up with an adult mentor to make up foursomes to play in the best ball scramble.

The event will be coordinated by avid golfer and Reality Check Program Founder Lawrence Lawton. "A great event to show kids that there is more to do than just hanging out on the streets" said Lawton, "No golf experience is necessary; it's meant to be fun and to expose kids to an activity they may not have tried otherwise while showing them that they can enjoy things without getting into trouble." Lawton will give a 20-minute inspirational speech and will visit each group for one-on-one sessions during the tournament.

Businesses and individuals who want to help or who may know of an at-risk youth who might benefit from this event may choose to sponsor a child with a $100.00 donation as a Golf Sponsor. Platinum, Gold and Silver Title Sponsorships are also available. There is no charge for the kids to play golf or for the adult mentors; all of the costs will be raised by the Reality Check Foundation through donations and sponsorships.
