Interesting. The city put the dirt there, having obtained an easement from the church to work on and stabalize the gully from any future landslides. The city uses part of their dirt pile to finish one project. Then it sits, and sits, and sits. All this time the church can't use it's soccer field - because of the ~city's~ dirt pile AND easement.
And now it has the gall to turn around and FINE the church??? I say, since it is the city of Rocklands problem, the city should fix it. That is a loooong culvert that NEEDS fixing. Roll some drainage pipe in there, BULLDOZE the dang dirt pile over the top of it, and be done with it.

That was the original plan, ya know.

Littlefield should turn around and sue Rocklands butt for not being able to use their own property for all these years - because of the easement and the lack of gumption on the city's part in GETTING THE JOB DONE once and for all.
Enough of this "it's your pile of dirt now" crap.

I can't imagine having a problem getting rid of the pile. I'm sure there are people out there that could some for fill around their property. If it weren't so far away, I'd come and get some.

As far as I know, it's clean fill dirt, too. I know because I saw the pile being dumped there at the time. At this point in time, I think the church should just stick a sign in it saying "clean fill dirt - you haul" and be DONE with it!

Drove by the dirt pile the other day and see they are spreading it around the lawn. Looks like quite a mess from what I saw. That lawn is about 2 feet higher than the neighbors on either side and looks like quite a bit of clay in it. If it is clay they'll have a hard time getting anything to grow and it will remain a slippery mess.

It will be just fine for a playground and ball park for the church. You have to get the whole story to know about things

The church already has a playground on the side of the culvert where the church is. I hope they get grass to grow on the dirt and clay mix. Before it was a soccer field, it was a corn field. Has the city fixed the culvert yet? Is there still that crack in the parking lot next to it??
