Someone you know has cancer.
Maine has the highest incidence of cancer in the United States.
More than 40 percent of Maines population resides within EMMC CancerCare of Maines service area in northern and northeastern Maine.
Cancer rates for individuals within the EMMC CancerCare of Maine's service area are the highest in Maine.
More than 7,000 patients receive cancer treatment at EMMC CancerCare of Main each year, and that number has been steadily increasing.

Not good at all, but the statistics has Maine as the leader. You can take all of them here, if you want. Don't know where you got that false info from

Many data sources from which to choose. While overall cancer incidence seem to be highest in Maine (and New England in general), specific cancers related to chemical and petrochemical industries seem to be highest in NJ. Certainly not trying to mitigate the severity of any cancer statistics. NJ has a long history of cancer-producing activities and high population. Maine (and New England in general) has a history of clean air and low population. Go figure.
