The Catholics can still practice their brand of witchcraft, but not on the government's dime. Isn't it a bit unsettling that freedom of religion allows them to discriminate, yet they claim an all loving religion.
This is what happens when government "respects an establishment of religion".

America needs to follow Canada's lead

Gays can marry and churches do not have to perform the ceremony if they don't want to

there are some churches that do perform them and all marriage commissioners who are civil service employees have to perform the service for anyone wanting one.

that way the discriminatory churches get to keep discriminating and gay people can get married with all the legal rights and responsibilities.

everyone is equal and everyone gets to be consistent in word and deed

that said, churches who continue to discriminate are finding fewer and fewer bums in their pews

so maybe should be considering that in a world that war is increasing, that people want to be in a place where people cna come together and not be further divided

religious hatred will be their own undoing

As the in-fighting continues among the different sects, there will be a point where they all will come together for a short period and then resume with an even more aggresive hatred for each other. We can only hope that day is soon so that secular society can step in and end this religious nonsense.

The Catholic Church is the most vile bulwark of pestilence on the planet. A hideous putridity of evil with no regard for truth and reason.

There is some terrible religious bigotry in this thread in an attempt to stop other "bigotry". You can respectfully disagree with the Catholic church without bashing it, IMO.

Most folks confuse their right to believe in whatever religion they want and the idea that those same beliefs are somehow worthy of merit. The Constitution does not require that it's citizens respect anyone's religion especially when the nation's TAX EXEMPT houses of worship are free to discriminate as they see fit.
"Religion is the opiate of the masses". Just say no to drugs.

the christians just don't get it. they think they have a monopoly on morals because their fairytale says so. tell that to the little kids they've been molesting for eons. as far as i am concerned, the catholic church can be wiped off the world and no-one would notice.
