Just to put a little insight here, I dated one of the sons for a while. The family is not as bad as you all are making them to look. They are good, respectable people. I think you are giving it so much attention because he is a judge. Nobody is going to like the sentence a judge gives - nobody wants to be punished for a crime to be honest. kids are kids. They steal drinks and get drunk. I do know first hand that the Lake Mills police department has a watchful eye on the family and are probably looking for anything to get them into trouble. Really.. I think everyone needs to drop it.

I knew Mary. We would always arrive at preschool together with the children. She was always there to pick them up and attended several "trips" that the pre school had. Now the eldest is 19 and the youngest probably 16...and never knew their mother. I remember her like yesterday, covering up bruises, her pretty wavy hair. The first person on the scene of that incident saw the gore and is haunted to this day... How did Logli fix a Jury? or was Copeland just bribed? Winnebago County had and has the arrogance to this day deal out selective justice just as they did. If Jim didn't want to stay married, he should have just divorced Mary...The court system probably would have given him the kids, also.....perhaps he would have killed them. He started the fight at the Waterfront, over 12 thousand people witnessed it and it ended up with murder at home. A Murder that EVERYONE knows was covered up by local politicians. The Mary Heaslip "Law" the Sen. Syverson put into effect to become re elected, is a complete joke. Rockford could give a shit less if a wife is tortured, raped or beaten. The judiciary give him a medal of honor.
