Merriam Woods Chief charged with assault with injury

I was checking out case net today and found Chief Jerry Pagans name where he was charged with a 3rd. degree assault with injury, I am wondering who he assaulted or could this be from what he did to the Rockaway Beach Court clerk last year. Also, if he has an assault charge, should he remain on duty pending the outcome of this charge. I live in Merriam Woods, should this be something to worry about?

Well this person isn't lying. Filed today, was turned over to the prosecutor on 3/27/09 and he asked for a special Prosecutor was was assigned and charges filed today.

Any man who hurts a woman should pay the price if he did actually hurt anyone for no reason.I believe Mr.Pagan should be relieved of duty.Hell if I did that to my women, I would be in jail.Even though he's lawenforcement, and more so, doesnt' make him any better than any one else who gets charged for an assault. A cop beyond all, should know better. Any one know who he assaulted?

wonder how many more people he has assalted and no one had the nerve to turn him in thats the way it goes, when you are a cop and do something wrong you get by with it ,they dont want their buddies to get into trouble. but take the old chief at the beach and look what they did to him all because he didnt kiss their ass just right. why did it take so long for the sherrifs dpt to file the charges on pegan. when the beach chief was on the net when no charges has never been filed on him yet.sounds like a maggot in the court system some where.well i hope the guilty parties gets their just dues. and i do feel sorry for the chief at the beach now with a mayor that will turn on his owne chief is as bout as low as a mayor can get.new chief take a lesson of what the mayor did to your old chief and dont turn your back on him. rat's have more respect for their own than your mayor does.hope you the best of luck but wont bet on it ,and as far as the chief in the woods .i do hope if he is guilty .and far as i can tell he is guilty.hope he gets what the law allows.but it probably want happen.will wait and see citizen of the beech

I will try to answer two questions, stanley first. It was the rockaway beach court clerk, the ex chiefs wife who pagan assaulted, this happened a year ago and he's just now being charged for it. i would like to know why our court system tried to cover that one up my self. as for "long time resident," aparantly, you've lived here long enough to know how one sided things are around here, and yes, rockaway chief found out he had charges on the case net before he was told, that according to what he said and i believe that because of how fast it happened. i also personally know that the court clerk has been trying for a year with no luck to get the charges filed so whats up with that. next election, i plan on voting for bart simpson and his family to take the place of some of those in high places and hope everyone else will do the same. one more thing, the news media was all over chief carpenters charge, why are they not covering a 3rd. degree assault by a police chief,to me, that is worse than the beach chief supposidly did. it's politics as usual around here, it's who you are and who's buddy you are, and as you said, who's ass you kiss, the law has been thrown out the door as they screw over certain people. i bet i get involved in the next elections next time, do what i can to see we dont keep what we have.

hey i do vote, why was the court clerk's not acted on .i know people right here in the beach that has hit their wife and went straight to jail. does the woods chief have a special permit to strike people and get by with it .oh i forgot he carries a badge. i think sixty minutes needs to look into this one .you know i thought our county sheriff wouldn't tollarate this kind of action especially out of another officer .looks like i need to rethink who we need as sheriff next round ,will the woods chief get to keep his job, i just can't believe no one done nothing.does any one know what happened to the old chief. i really liked him he was a real down to earth people person,i cant believe the mayor done him like he did .hear the mayor will probably have to go to court over that ,does any one know? well i hope things go good for the old chief,

to long time res. i agree on 60 min's. i would be happy to see it on local media, they took no time smearing the woods chiefs name all over the news, notice that? i would believe an assault by a police chief would be much more serious crime than what beach chief was charged with, it's whos butt you have your head up the most that matters here though. if the sheriff was interested in the job rather than the prestige, he would be active in this charge but they dont do anything about the serious drug problem here either, just got a badge and a very big head, but they come, and then they go you know.

This is all a bunch of bull crap, I know Chief Pagan and know that he has been more than fair with everyone he tries to deal with in the Woods, and Rockaway. I also know for a fact that this so called assault never happened and that there were witnesses to the event. If I were Pagan I would file charges on Carpenter for filing a false report and sue him and his wife for everything they have or would ever have.
Also isn't Carpenter smart enough to know he has walked away clean from all his wrong doing in Rockaway to this point. Now that he has stirred the pot hope all the crap he has pulled comes out, like falsifying expense reports, taking guns, money and watches for the Police department evidence room just to name a few.
Rockaway has just started going in the right direction and now a Dumb ass is tiring to bring it back down to a shit level, Thanks Bob, I hope YOU and your WIFE get what you deserve, and Chief Pagan go for the throat.

Well Bear you sure are quick to take up for Pagan and in the very next breathe point the finger at my dad. Well were you there when dad supposedly did the things you say? You may not be saying all of this either if the papers had been filed the first time it was reported a year ago! Don't get me wrong I am not one of these one does wrong and gets away go after someone else or the other way around and yes, I feel that if dad did something wrong he should pay for his wrong doing as well. I don't care who you are, if you do wrong, you should pay. But, all charges have to be proven and to my knowledge my dad has no charges dealing with the things you started therefore none of it can be proven! Charges have been filed on Pagan assuming it actually goes through the courts as it should a judge will decide if it is proven he did this or not. No I was not there when it happened so I only know what I have been told, just as you probably only know what "people" tell you. But, don't try to make this sound like my dad and step mom are only doing this because of what is (has been) going on with Rockaway, these charges should have been filed a long time before any of this even came up!

When your dad was charged, it was all done within a week when the charges were filed but when your mom filed, "in may" on Pagan, nothing was done. I talked to your mom a couple weeks ago and found out that if she wouldnt have taken the paper work to the special prosecutor her-self, the statue of limitations would have ran out and it would have been all over for her. I dont know why they would jump to get your dad in the system but allow pagan to slide but sure dont sound like a fair court system here to me. as you, I think both are innocent till proven guilty, but both has their right to their day in court to prove innocent or guilt.
