I love beans and cornbread and liver n onions. Does this post show in this thread? I can't believe none of my post are showing and I don't know why.

I too would like to celebrate beans and cornbread!

My favorite cornbread has some whole sweet corn kernels and jalapeņo bits throughout. Beans are tasty as well, and I can always count on my grandmother for a rousing rendition of the "Beans, beans: the magical fruit" ditty. ;-)

I think using buttermilk and a cast iron skillet are the keys to making a great cornbread.

You all have inspired me to ask my mother for any old family cornbread recipes.

When a forum owner posts, their mini-profile looks different than others.

It looks the same as the others, except for the label FM by your name. Something I'm missing?

Sorry, it looks different to me. I didn't think that others wouldn't see it the same. I have a lot to learn about accidentally created forums.:)

Your posts look different to me as well. Your "user block" to the left of your post where it says your location, profile picture, number of posts, etc. is a darker, 2-tone blue than other users' posts.

Probably has to do with how one accesses topix (device/browser client). Right now I'm using Safari browser on an iPad.

Scioto, do you think maybe people on the other forum are getting confused by that badge on your topix user profile (looks kind of like a red castle) and thinking that indicates you're the owner of that forum?

To clarify, this is the red castle badge that shows up on your profile:
http://static.topixcdn.com/ext/t7/badge_castl...

The text for that badge says, "Forum Owner". I assumed it meant that you were the owner of *a* Topix forum, which would be this awesome beans and cornbread forum.

I think others may have assumed to to mean that you were the owner of other Topix forums you have posted in: Piketon, Rarden, whatever...

Could be totally off-base but I think it was an honest mistake, and that may be where the confusion set in (thanks Topix!).

Ok, now I see what Swaded is seeing - the two-tone blue background in your username box. I was on cell last night, but on desktop today. Hope this helps.

Good luck trying to explain that to the zerohedge conspiracy theorists. They had zero interest in listening to me trying to explain it. I never did understand what the paranoia was about in the first place. It doesn't take a lot of intelligence to realize how ludicrous it is to think that Topix would be trying to silence any users. Kinda goes against their business model, doesn't it?

I dunno... I have to wonder if some people are new to internet discussion forums or the internet in general; they come up with these wacky metaconspiracy theories and lose their minds in the presence of seemingly obvious trolls.

It worked! I've been trying to post for about an hour. Not a computer wiz here, clearly.

As for the conspiracy theories.... Mass hysteria, I tell you. One person planted the seed, others fell sway to it. Was interesting to watch. Annoying as all hell, but interesting.

Does my mini-profile (the block with my name and flag) appear as a darker two- tone color? I think it does on some devices but not all.

The only way to make cornbread is with a cast iron skillet!

I'm here, and my culinary roots are in Georgia, so I like my cornbread made with 100% stone ground corn meal, buttermilk (or kefir), some fat, a little egg, salt, and just a pinch of sugar.

Yes, on my laptop, it's showing as you have described. But, only on this thread.
