I am also a sales rep for Hage in south central Kansas, all these complaints sound crazy. Its hard to see that these are just a few people making them. We have been in business for years and have never had these issues. The watermax is a very top of the line system. And we dont get any complaints on them. A few bad apples can give off a false impression of a great product. <quoted text>
What exactly do you do as a sales rep? is it door to door or are appointments set up for you? im asking because my husband recently inquired about a job with this company

I had a sales rep come by recently. Talk about unprofessional and unknowledgeable; this guy was a piece of work. First he showed up sick, I should have kicked him out of the house after 5 minutes instead of letting him ramble for an hour. Secondly the guy did not understand the science behind what he was doing. He knew how to do his magic tricks and after finishing performing them pronounce that I had "Bad Water." He could not explain what bad water meant. He proceeded to try to make me believe that our "Bad Water" was due to industrial pollution. What a butch of crap. He didn't have a clue to where my water comes form
I am a professional geologist and I work as a project manager doing environmental restoration of soils and groundwater. You cannot determine the quality of your water with the few simple tests that this guy did. You need to send water samples to a certified laboratory and have multiple test conducted that cost on average about $600.00. The tests he ran only showed that my water was chlorinated, typical of municipal treatment, and hard water, small amounts of naturally occurring chemicals, most commonly calcium, magnesium, and iron.. They are not harmful you and in most cases are beneficial to your health. They also won’t tell you that if you are on a low sodium diet that you should not use a water softener. A water softener works by replacing the hard water ions (chemicals) with sodium ions (another chemical).
There is so much more on this, and I simply don’t have the time or mental energy. Bottom line if a Salesman for some WATER QUALITY company tells you, you have “BAD WATER” by putting a couple of drops of some magic chemical into a test tube of your water don’t believe him. He may even be able to get the “BAD” chemicals to magically appear and settle to the bottom of the tube. All that white cloudy stuff is, is calcium carbonate or magnesium calcium carbonate, a substance that your body needs and uses.

I was hired by Hague Quality Water yesterday. I then did some research on the company last night so I could be more prepared for training today. When I went in and asked them about their pay rate, the lawsuits, and the complaints that have been posted, they gave me excuses. When asking about how we are to be paid if we did not sell a unit, I was told that We only get paid if we sell products. They want us to spend 6 hours in a office for 4 days a week, and not get paid for that time. I am not working for free, for a company that has too many complaints. I then asked about the complaints and they gave me the run around that it was the company in Columbia MO. Then I was called into an office with 2 workers and told that because I had doubts and reluctant about the product that they would have to let me go. What about the time and gas I already used to go to the interviews and the training today. They are a crooked company to their employees and I would not suggest anyone go to work for them.

I see how it is. You have extremely high water pressure that you did nothing about, so when your water softener happens to blow up, it's the distributer's fault, and you trash him? When I was told my pressure was too high, I installed a pressure regulator, as recommended by both my plumber and Mr. Hoogerheide, who was extremely polite and professional. My system has never acted up and I get excellent service from his local office. Maybe the problem was not with them, but with someone who thinks everyone else is to blame when they don't take care of their problems.
Barry wrote:
Lera...I got one for you on this very faulty and over priced system.
I spoke to Paul Hoogerheide, the president ot L.A. Purification system who is the distrubuter of hague.
The system was leeking and the parts are covered on a 25 year guarantee. BUT his company is charging us $600.00 to fix their problem ?
we have had a broken drinking system that was "missed" by their service people.
We had the service people dump the salt on our plants , killing 8 plants that were 15 years growing in my back yard.
BUT THE SLAP IN THE FACE was when I talked to this "owner" he tried to blame everything on us.
Our pressure regulator or they did not have a trash can to put the salt into...
You name it I paid $6000.00 for this system and will not put anymore good money after bad money into a system that has no credible service, and I recomment that no one buy this system from hague.

I'v had the system for over 6 years. The first thing I noticed was alot of rust happening in my
washing machine (I repaced 2 tubes in my washer.
The mildew is horrendous, and has driven me crazy.
We have since stopped using the system and wonder
what type of damage it has done to our plumbing system. I would be on board for a class action lawsuit.

I got a system in early 09 and am totally regretting it.$90 a month turned into $110 after they showed me a different financing option that would get it paid of in 5yrs instead of 10. Got the 5 stage RO for "free" plus the 5 years of soap the original plan included free media for 10 years also. When I did the better more expensive financing and then had to pay for the media (salt).
I did this all based on a high pressure sale, and have felt ripped off after I wrote the first check. Now I am being pressured inot a $175 dollar service to replace a filter that I am damn sure I was told I would never have to replace. If you have gotten anywhere with your situation, please contact me: gabrielslade@yahoo.com.
I have contacted hague and am awaiting a responce. My next step is to contact the Kansas state attorney general.

I purchased a system 10 years ago and was satified with it. Now the cabinet that holds the salt has developed several large cracks along the bottom, water just runs out of the cabinet. Have sent several emails and did have someone contact me and they were going to replace the cabinet. That was two years ago and still no new cabinet.

I'm a sells rep in the southwest region of Missouri if there is anything I can do for any of you fill free to call me. I'm not saying I can do everything, but I will see what I can do to fix your problems, provide you with service, or anything else you may need in regards to the Hague system. It is sad the some people have to use strong arm sales tactics to sale a system like this. We are not that way at Premier Water Solutions of Republic MO. As far as service that has to do with the reps in your area. I realize that everyone will not be happy even if it was free, but my customers all have enjoyed their systems. They have not encounterd any problems with their system thus far. Guys it is a great product that I stand behind. If I can be of service to you in anyway please do not hesitate to give me a call. I am here to serve you!

I saw your comment, My husband has tried very hard to get our $5000. system fixed. Loved it while it was working. My hands have a severe problem with cracked skin, the water system was the best thing that ever happened to me. We cannot find anyone to fix it. Right now I am feeling like we spent alot of money on two big white things that take up space since they cannot be used. PLEASE tell me if you can fix them or find me someone who can. I signed up for a drawing waiting at a mall for my girlfriend to go to the bathroom and it involved the Kansas branch of this company, they called me today and told me i won a $1000 gift card to major restaraunts and set up an appointment for tonight at 8PM. Has anyone else done this before. I'm guessing it will be like a time-share meeting, im obviously not going to buy their product but was just wondering if i'm actually going to get the gift card, basically has anyone else "won" anything from this company in a drawing of some sort. A quick response would be great since they will be here in about 2 hours, Thanks ahead of time.
I had the same thing happen! They will be here in one hour. I tried to call them to cancel, but they won't answer!!! Did you get your gift card?

There is a Hague in Topeka KS and I went to the interviews that they were having.. I knew right away before they started the presentation that it was all a bunch of bs. Can't believe I wasted time driving up there.. the office they have there looks crappy..the carpets worn out with stain and holes in it and smudges on the walls..if only I can get my hands on them for all that they are doing..scamming innocent people.

all areas have different service contracts with seperate companies. The Hague you have is not really Hague it's from a licence or distrubutership..
The owner of Hague Qaulity Water located in Fridley MN walks and quacks like a duck. My wife and I had a system installed by the owner Charles Kes the system is a peice of junk. We had another water purification company come and take a look to see what was wrong with the system. It was installed improperly and never worked! The company thew the system out and we are now pleased with our new system from KINETICO. Please do not use this company, unless you want to be out thousands of dollars. This company was recommended from a colleague of mine. They should not be in business and take advantage of elderly people.

I bought a Watermax system 4 years ago. I have had no problems at all. n fact, I am quite pleased with the quality of our water now, and the service people who come in every other year to service it. Maybe service and value vary by location? I live in Eastern PA.
