Two men were shot in a car late Saturday night on the city's west side.

Rochester police say it happened on Gardiner Avenue around midnight.

They say four people were driving in a car when they were shot at. Two of them were struck in the upper body, the other two were uninjured.

Police say one victim, a 20-year-old city resident, was transported to Strong Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other victim, an 18-year-old Irondequoit resident was also transported with what police say are non-life threatening injuries.

"The investigation indicates that these victims were inside a vehicle in the area of Forbes and Gardiner. The shooter, as far as we can tell, was outside in that area and fired shots at the vehicle," said RPD Lieutenant Ron Malley.

The investigation is ongoing.
