The demolition operator in the Philadelphia building collapse was a felon with a lengthy criminal record who was high on marijuana and painkillers at the time, police say.

I'm shocked. Unfortunately, the company he worked for will get sued into oblivion.

Concerning the recent collapse of a building in Philadelphia and which resulted in at least six people being killed, I suspect the building owner and the demolition contractor made some "major mistakes."

(NOTE: There are suspicions that the reason the building collapsed the way it did, and which led to major loss of life, was that the building owner supposedly went to the extreme in using a contractor that supposedly was unqualified and willing to cut to cut corners, and rather than paying more and having the job done right.)

So to list a just a few of the major mistakes that were made:

MAJOR MISTAKE # 1: If in order to reduce costs, you are sometimes willing to cut corners to such an extreme degree on some of your projects that it might cause significant loss of life, then you should only due so on projects in the middle of nowhere, BUT DEFINITELY NOT IN THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS DISTRICT OF A MAJOR CITY.

In other words if this building collapse had occurred in the outskirts of a tiny town, and extra especially if it had also happened far from any major metropolitan area, it is very unlikely it would have gotten much publicity. However since it has gotten extensive national publicity, it will now be much harder for the local authorities to whitewash the whole thing and only give the guilty parties just a minor slap on the wrist.

MAJOR MISTAKE # 2: It was a also a major mistake to cut corners in such an extreme way on a project that was close to a building whose customers included relatives of bigshots and the politically connected. In other words if you are going to kill people due to cutting corners, to increase the probability you will stay out of prison you should make sure that the people you kill are "nobodies" and without powerful friends and relatives.

the boss probably didn't want to hire that trash but because the laws down there are like here where they HAVE to hire blacks over whites and this is what ends up happening.
