I don't know who makes Pep Boys batteries but I'll never recommend them to anybody. When I was visiting my folks for the holidays the battery in their Caravan died. It was a Pep B battery that was the 3rd one they got from them, they all lasted less than a year. The second one from early 2012 was replaced under warranty but they said the 3rd one had to be "pro-rated". I never understand that, should a battery last at least 3 years or not?
My brother just called me yesterday, the battery he bought just this last Oct failed to crank the engine. His favorite garage did a test and told him the battery had a bad cell. He goes to Pep Boys and they say the battery is good, we won't replace it! I have ordered all my family in that area to never buy a battery (or anything else) from them again.
