So while the RPD illegally pull over inner-city blacks and search their cars, the video tape mostly white suburbans buying drugs and instead of pulling over the car searching it and arresting these suburban whites, they only send some sort of "letter" to the registered owner of the car??????

WTF!!!!!

Next the RPD will be instructed that when they see a white guy driving a car reckless at 2am like he's drunk, instead of pulling him over just send a letter to the registered owned saying that the car was seen driving recklessly.

Only an idiot like you would listen to Nestor Ramos, oh and by the was genius, this story was already posted a week ago. And marijuana hasn't been decriminalized like Ramos states. Secondly no one is being stop because these vehicles are seen on camera and there are no police vehicles involved.

The police are behind the cameras watching and they are the ones believing that they are seeing some sort of drug deal, and they are the ones who don't radio the patrol cars or an investigator to stop the car of the person that seems to be selling drugs. And it may not be weed, it may be crack or meth. White suburbans like meth over weed. The police when getting these cameras said they would be used to fight crime, not to send silly letters to whites in the burbs. I really don't understand the complete and total difference of treatment the RPD give to city blacks and white suburbans. They get a "letter"??? are you kidding me??

You idiot all calls go through the 911 center, of course the officers don't call a patrol car to the scene, can you get any dumber. And investigators typically don't take 911 calls for service, it's not part of their job description. It was a one sided story you idiot, to get you to think in your racist ways. If you think for one second that someone that lives in the city didn't drive up to one of these locations then you have a screw loose. Thank god you aren't in charge of anything. They get a letter because they couldn't be stopped and it's to let them know that they are being watched and in hopes that they will stop their activity, they won't but it's worth a shot.

Carry on now, you stupid ignorant racist.

the police believe they are witnessing several drug deals, and their answer is to do nothing but to run the plates and send some sort of letter??

only the rpd would do this type of thing.

this reminds me of some past stories of where neighborhood watch groups that were trying to rid the neighborhood of johns and prostitutes.
these were just citizens with no power or authority to stop or arrest anyone, and they would get the plate numbers and send a letter to the registered owner.

are our city cops just citizens with no power or authority to stop question or arrest someone???

Hate to tell you dummy, this sort of thing happens all over the country. Sending a letter and keeping the video is far better than doing nothing at all.

If there isn't a police officer there, how are they going to arrest someone ? wow, you just keep rolling up the dumb questions now don't you. If you think you have it so bad then move, even CC would tell you that, that's their favorite line. If you don't like it here then move.

Like I said, when these cameras were new, we were told that they would be used to fight crime and that cops watching the cameras would be in communications with cops on the road to respond.
I actually recall watching a news story where the cop on the camera pointed out to the reporter a black man and claimed he was a drug dealer and he sent a patrol car over to get him and they did and they showed the cops searching the guy and they found NOTHING on him.

Nobody ever spoke about these cameras to be used for silly letters.
And the video of these so called drug deals are worthless as well as the letters. They don't prove a drug deal was done.

The cops need to do their job and treat whites from the burbs the same as they do the blacks form the city.

They send whites a silly letter???

Shut up you idiot, you are listening to Ramos again, the idiot, just like you, that wrote the story. He has no clue what he is talking about to begin with. He thinks marijuana was decriminalized, sorry hasn't happened and UPM has always been on the books. So your going to take a one sided biased story from an idiot who has no clue what the hell they are talking about.

The cameras are a "tool" they aren't the cure or the end all to crime. Have some common sense will you. The cameras are used to look at suspicious activity, just because it looks suspicious doesn't mean a crime is occurring. Just like Ramos assuming a drug transaction is taking place because the person is from the burbs. It doesn't prove anything except a person drove a vehicle into the city that was registered to someone in the burbs. It works both ways, but you only want to see it one way.

Oh and who said that these people with vehicles registered to someone in the burbs was "WHITE". funny I didn't see any mention of race in his story. I guess blacks, hispanics, latinos etc don't live in the burbs. Keep those blinders on.

you guys do know law enforcement is paid for every pound of drugs that comes into the area right?

the mexican weed has been sold on the same corners by the same people in front of the same houses and stores for decades without a single day of it being unavailable

the same goes for meth coke heroin etc

theres no way that could be going on without the involvement and the go ahead by the law enforcement

thats one of the reasons the usa doesnt want to legalize marijuana, the law enforcement groups would lose national funding to combat drugs, AND theyd lose their funding they get to LET the drugs be sold by the drug dealers
