Richards' Endorsement By Monroe County Democrats Criticized

One of the candidates running for Rochester mayor is criticizing the Democratic Committee for announcing the endorsement of Mayor Tom Richards. Lovely Warren's campaign says three key Democratic districts in Monroe County were not taken into account.

Tuesday, Monroe County Democratic Chairman Joe Morelle announced that Mayor Richards was the endorsed candidate.

A Warren spokesperson says the problem is that the 22nd, 25th and 27th Democratic districts, which represent the city's largest and predominately African American neighborhoods, have not voted yet.

Richards and Warren, the City Council President, have both been vying for the endorsement.

Councilman Adam McFadden represents the 27th District. He said he was offended and shocked that the endorsement had been decided. In a statement, he said:

" The 27th District is the largest, most diverse, and most active committee in Monroe County and we will not be voting until May 4. To see that it's been decided is offensive and they are supposed to wait until all votes are counted before releasing an endorsement. The democratic party is supposed to be about inclusion."
McFadden said the decision should have been announced at the Monroe County Democratic Convention on May 16 after every vote had been counted.

Chairman Morelle, meantime, called McFadden's response "unfortunate." Morelle says the endoresment was announced now because Richards:

"had attained the requisite total amount of weighted committee votes to clinch the designation. He has so far received 72 percent of the total votes and has ensured no matter what the result of the remaining committee designation meetings he will end up with at least 52 percent of the total weighted vote."
Morelle went to say the three remaining committees:
"chose to go last, leaving the door open to the possibility that the designation would be clinched before they had the opportunity to vote. I would hope Ms. Warren will understand this was procedural and resist the urge to be divisive."

Boooo Hoooo Hoooo and Yawwwwwnnnnn! Basic math...regardless of the outcome of the 3 remaining districts...52% is a larger number than 48%. Period. Nice try though.

Steel City, darling. When are you going to stop with the racebaiting threads? You are a suburban, suburban piece of trash who belittles te city. Stop trying to attract your conservative racist republican friends here they will eventually come here ecause they don't know any better. Since you are anti-city, I would advise you not to dig up anymore stories unless you have someting positive to say, and have a great purpose. Until then, do as I say and disappear. OK?

Or what, riDICulous? What are you going to do? I'm not racebaiting. Warren and McFadden are racebaiting. I'm not anti-city. I am anti-race card playing politicians. I am anti-crime. Anti-shootings. Anti-stabbings. Anti-murders. Just so happens that all of the above are ruining the city.

Lemmeeeee seeeee...oh. I'm going to single-handedly end all the black on black stabbings, all the black on black shootings, all the black on black assaults, robberies, home invasions. What exactly would you like me to do about it? Only the black community in Rochester can lower the black crime in Rochester.

shocking. Lovely stood by Richards after Duffy left with the Hatch Act issue.

Now Richards don't know who Ms. Warren is. Typical mentality.

The race is on now, what you think?

I'd like to see Richards release a statement saying McFadden and supposed gypsy Warren are targeting his campaign because he's white, and see how that goes over.

Funny, but I thought Richards wasn't running for Mayor again.

What made him change his mind, Lovely?

The County should stay out of our city elections.

If Lovely Warren wants to have any credibility as a serious contender she should distance herself from McFadden. That man is the most counter-productive blowhard this city has ever had. No one takes him seriously.
I agree. He is nothing but a trouble maker. She would have a way better chance without him trying to ride her coattails.

Troublemaker? I know Mr. McFadden personally, and he is anything but that. He gives and supports the comunity. I often help him and many others when he gives free turkeys out for Thansgiving for the needy. If you don't know the man, don't publicly trash him on the internet.

I see the word "Free" is an allergy to you conservatives! But ask me if I care what you all think.

I can't fault McFadden for getting upset with how his brother was treated by the police.
John McCain has a pretty hot temper himself. He has made the news several times for shooting his mouth off in a fit of rage.

Well, I'm more concerned about Miranda Rights. Cause if I say what I really feel I'm certain to get a backlash from a Network of Natives or the LYNCH Mob. Those who are prone to abusing the legal system based on nepotism and favoritism.

They damned sure don't follow the rules here.

Such is the way of life here.

So I'll just sit back and watch this debate as I do most of the ridiculous posting on this forum.

You consistently say you aren't going to respond while you are responding. Yes, do us all a favor, and exercise your right to remain silent! I beg of you to do so! ;)

I wasn't talking to you, but since you got on the defensive, it applies to you too. Just because you see something negative publicly about someone does not make them bad. You are entitiled to your opinion, but I know better.
