Anyway, back on topic, Downtown Rochester needs a shot in the arm to get back. I believe every downtown city has the potential to succeed. Take Providence, Rhode Island for example. Their downtown was just like Rochester's. They built a downtown mall called Providence Place. The hours are like suburban mall hours. Now their downtown is thriving. Providence is smaller than Rochester!

End RTS busing of RCD to keep the punks out of downtown and allow a casino. If we were going to do something like a mall it should have been done before Midtown was torn down.

They should have renovated and expanded Midtown before it got to what it was.

Providence is smaller. You state the very reason putting a mall downtown worked there and would do little here in an area that already has more malls than needed. It is easier to fix smaller cities.

FTW, bigger cities seems to get a lot of entertainment first hand and seems to be a easier fix than Rochester. So smaller cities is a easier fix? What's Rochesters excuse? Why are we left in the cold?

I agree with you Rochester should focus on entertainment. What I don't agree with is a mall having any significant impact on reviving our city. F.Y.I. Rochester is not really a small city. The reason we get overshadowed is mostly because of that cancerous growth called N.Y.C. getting all our state leaders attention. To much money is spent by all New Yorkers to support that filth bucket that can't generate enough money to support itself.

Yes, Rochester to me is actually bigger than perceived. We do have a metro population of a million. For a city of Rochesters size, there should be more going on, and shouldn't be so conservative. I think the Blue Cross Arena should be bigger. I think High Falls entertainment shouldn't have failed. Fast ferry had potiential. On the plus side, Rochester has lots of festivals happening all the time. A lot for a medium size city

Rochester isn't really all that conservative either. It's an issue of nostalgia for our days as a leader in manufacturing and commerce.

Fearfulness being fueled by racism is Rochester's biggest issue.
They only want some things for certain people. On the other hand, there are some that don't know how to conduct themselves and they make it bad for the ones that do.

And you darn sure cannot compare NYC to Rochester....there is NO comparison. NONE!

There was no comparison. Only a factual statement the N.Y.C. is a leech that is a big source of the plight for the rest of N.Y.. We should cut it off and watch it implode on itself when it does not have the rest of the state to foot it's bills. It gets all the representation, gobbles up all the tax money, then sends all it's scum upstate into the prisons. Then when the get released the move into the communities. It does nothing for the state that supports it.Only looks down on the rest of us and expects everyone to praise it. It is a filthy and vile hellhole and should be cut off. A perfect representation of everything wrong in modern America.

You obviously have not traveled much if you think we take the cake when it comes to racism.

I have two family members that moved there. I have been to N.Y.C. numerous times. It is horrible. Garbage, traffic, dirty air, and people packed together tighter than cattle on a truck on its way to slaughter. It is an unsustainable pit of depravity. It is the perfect representation of how people should not live and why societies and governments always wind up falling. Tell me what is so great about it? What good has it done for the rest of New York?

It is the city that never sleeps. 24-7 all day, every day. Anything you need or want. Entertainment, restaurants, movie stars, theatre, PARKS, museums, shopping areas galore...need I say more?

Did I mention its a tourist attraction. Maybe they know something you don't.
