6 officers aren't going to do squat against a rowdy drunk crowd. And as I already said you incompetent boob, the bar owners can pay for off duty officers, it's not difficult to comprehend, well except for you that is.
You don't have a clue Rhon DUH
Why do you care about the East End? Oh I know because the bars will not accept your E.B.T. Card, how dumb of me.

Congrats, you are the dumbest poster ever. 6 officers HAVE been doing LOTS with a drunk and rowdy crowd for YEARS. The RPD chief hasn't been complaining about the first 6; he said he wanted 2 more to make it "safe" for the 6 already there, but instead threatened to pull them all out from there. IDIOT.

WRONG ! The chief never said he wanted to pull them it was a captain that misspoke and said that the patrols would be ending. The chief also stated that by leaving the 6 officers there he is using up resources where they could be otherwise used.

stop making crap up you clown.

I don't know why anyone would go there anyway. Downtown is ugly, has too many blacks and lowlife, and the music is terrible.

Bob Lonsberry said cops are normally using their cell phones, cause they don't want to be caught saying bad things on their polic eraido that they shouldn't be saying by someone listening on a scanner.
Yet, Bob supports the RPD??

What makes it a fact ? just because Lonsberry said it.

There's also a lot of sensitive information that needs to be communicated and it's better communicated via cell phone than the radio. Remember some bad guys carry scanners too.

It's a fact Lonsberry said it, and its a fact that he pushes the "I support the RPD" t-shirts.

Bob doens't know if he supports them or not.

Probably cause he has 8 kids and thinks he's OctoDad.

How do you think pays all the taxes so his 8 kids can go to Public schools??

Why would the RPD even notify to bars that they are changing things???
They are soo stupid, do they get paid from the bars?
Are the bars incharge of the RPD???

If they have extra police in that area, they should show more arrests in that area, as we don't want to pay over 6 cops to go sit on their butts.

And its funny how this story has changed from calling the cops there a "parked duty" to a "Foot Patrol". Are they really out on FOOTPATROL???

RPD doesn't have to give the bar owners any notice and no they aren't paid by the bar owners to be there. If the bars want the officers there then they should reimburse the city for that special detail which the bar owner are willing to do. They know that they are being given special attention.

Police presence doesn't always mean more arrests, they are there more as a deterent.

There use to be patrol vehicles parked in the area and the officers nearby. Now the chief is talking about removing the patrol vehicles and just putting the officers there on foot patrols.
