Hey Guys, My name is Greg and I wanted to share with You an experience I had the other night at a new dojo in Webster Ny, called Strike Back Martial Arts.
First I wanted to share a little about Myself. I have been studying Kickboxing and Jujitsu for a number of years now, and was blown away by the instruction I received Monday night. The instructors are Dave Nicchita and Mike Palmer. I improved more in one night studying with them, than in the past six months studying elsewhere. These Guys really know their stuff! Classes include Kickboxing, Jujitsu and "Self Protection" which I believe was developed by Mr. Nicchita who is a Monroe county Sheriff. They also teach a kids class.
I was not asked to write this nor am being offered any incentives for this revue. I just wanted to share a positive experience I had. Hope to See You there tonight!
The website is, strikebackmartialarts.com

Do you know that area? I used to live in Chaumont(SP?)and one of my teachers had a restaurant in Alexandria Bay. I believe her name is Mrs. Purcell.

Oh yeah, I know the area very well. I live there part of the year. It feels more like home to me than Rochester does. I fish Chaumont Bay. Especially through the ice. Did she own Casa de Pasta by any chance I believe it was owned by a couple from around there before it shut down.

Not sure of the name, but it right down by the dock and was a fairly big place. I think her husband ran/owned the dock. Thinking about ice fishing on the bay reminds me of playing hockey on it. I used to have a trap line on the Chaumont river and that was the coldest damn place I have ever been in the winter, but the summers were great. BYW: Is the hotel/bar still there?

O.K. You must be talking about what is now Coleman's BBQ now it is next to the town docks. The docks are owned by the town bot that place has it,s own docks. He might have run the town docks because they used to be privately ran. Outdoor hockey, ice fishing, trapping? Damn brother, we got some crap in common. As a matter of fact I do a trap line that river as well. I also got permission to trap a lot of the islands which is awesome for mink. Which hotel/bar? You mean Chaumont or Alexandria Bay. If your talking about A-Bay they have 26 bars right now. It is for sure cold up there. Hell they send Alaskan Army and NG soldiers to Fort Drum for cold weather tactical drills it gets so damn cold and snowy. I love the winters there just as much as the summers though. I'll be back there after the holidays. Go for jaunts to run lines but will go back for a long stretch after Christmas. Really working hard getting away from this place for good.

The hotel/bar in Chaumont across the street from Moose's and Bill's Barber Shop. I lived in the old farm house next to the liquor store on the main drag. Cold isn't the word for it, in the winter of '59 the temp was in the minus 40's and that was without the wind chill. The house had coal heat with one register in the middle of the 1st floor, none on the second floor and no fan/blower to push the heat, that was one cold S.O.B.

I'm stumped on that one. I know there's a motel in Chaumont but not sure it is the one your talking about. I don't really go to the town for anything but to get on the bay and outside the main drag for hunting and trapping.
