You need to read the transcripts from the text messages sent back and forth between the alleged victim and Marian. This will surely crear-up the consent issue.....LOL....If you have not read it, you are only guessing or wishful thinking as to whether their was actual consent. This goes way past consent in my oppion inspite of the legality.

Our laws are clear on this...I agree, but some of the bloggers act as if he abducted her against her will and raped her. It seems to bother you that she did in fact at minimum agree to this relationship...sorry.

Not that long ago in history, many young women were married at this age. My own grandmother was married at 14, some thhought that this was unusual, but not criminal.

I wish this young lady nothing but the best in her future, but I still think Marian got punished too severly for his part in this. No matter what he did, 16 years and the loss of the rest of his life due to his status as a registered sex offender is over the top. Muderers don't get punishments this severe.

If a woman had done the same to a young man, society looks at this with a "wink and a giggle" and the woman typically gets a slap on the wrists.

Marian is not obducting children off of playgrounds and rapping and killing. This was simply just a moment of poor judgement...5 years max is what these crimes typically earn in State court . Somehow using a computer is worse then the actual statuatory rape.

For those that support Marian, they are objecting to the severity of the sentence(16 yrs). It is simply too much.

I don't consider myself very shy, but I would be embaressed to post what the victim wrote to Marian, I am sure that her family is happy the case did not go to trial. All of these nasty little details would have been public knowledge. So "Great Wise One" spend a couple of dollars and get the documents.
