RocCity, NO... because of CHOICE I don't have to worry about some jerk "tagging" my personal property. I live on Keuka Lake where I leave my windows and doors open all summer long. Year round, the keys are in my ignition (including ATV, Boat and vehicles.) Yes, there are still places in America where peace exists! Its a matter of CHOICE of where you live.
So, to all of you complainers out there... how about you stop waisting your time blogging and go do something about it if you're all sooo fed up with the BS in my hometown - ROCHESTER. I take initiative with litter -my pet peeve. The third Sunday of every month my company and I walk two miles with garbage bags in hand picking up trash. No not here in Yates County... Monroe County! I'm part of the solution... not the problem... can the rest of you HONESTLY say the same? DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. You're apparently insane!!! PS.. if you want a hand cleaning up the graffitti... call me. I'll commit a Sunday every month to doing something about it. When you wanna start?

The City Of Rochester used to have a program called Graphitti Busters which went around and removed the art by taggers - most of it is done by skaters.

It's not gang signs like people think, but the idea of promoting a place for them to show off their talents is cool.

It won't stop it all - it's kinda like a dog peeing on hydrants ~

Chilly doesn't use hydrants anymore

I've lived on Mount Hope and would like to know where exactly on Mount hope do you see grafitti? Over by the projects near the Ford Stree Bridge? I highly doubt that with the residence there, it was suburban/college kids that did that grafitti.<quoted text>
Up up by CVS you will see a print of whats suppose to be feet tagged all over that area. Its funny because its no where need the projects.Ive been on the state hospital grounds and seen it on the walls.
The cemetary-who do you think kicks over the tombstones? poor inner city kids? no drunk college students.

I dont have to argue back and forth with about it because I know and you assume because you dont know.Graffiti has become popular again not but gangmember, not poor little black inner city youth but by white suburban kids/college students who get away with doing it because they know you will aSSume someone else is doing it.You have shops,on and offline that sell special caps that go on the cans....but you allready know who's doing what.

Well, I guess then it would be easy for you to say "leave it alone". You don't have to deal with it appearently. Sure, go ahead and turn a blind eye to the matter but the matter is still there.

I didn't say that I would clean up the grafitti. I said that the "artist" that has been caugh clean up the grafitti. I don't think that it's fair that the community should be out there wioing the offenders's butts by cleaning up after them. They need to learn, as a consequence, to clean thier own crap. and as I've stated pay restitution for the cost of the clean up. It's thier punishment that needs to be addressed in this situation. If we keep cleaning up after them then it's just giving them reinforcement to do what they do. I look out and contribute to cleaning up my own messe and litter and simply put, if we all did this then we wouldn't have to wipe anyone elses butt. But, like I said, you're out there and think that just because you don't have a grafitti problem then we should leave it alone. I don't think that would solve the problem either.

You really have no proof as to who or what click is doing the graffiti. it's your ASSUMPTION that has led you to say what you have but hey, like one person reasonably pointed out, it's not who but rather WHAT can be done about it. If you have a way to correct the problem then let's hear it. But, if you just want to point fingers then you're just adding to the problem.

Why does the government always have to use band aids to fix problems that won't go away? Isn't it obvious that graffiti will always be here forever? Do something different about the situation than just painting over the graffiti. That's like painting a white wall white again. Why? What's the point. That's lame. To be somewhat two sided here like we all are I actually like seeing graffiti on ugly buildings if it's done well. I mean let's just face it here the "brown buildings" or vacant buildings are just asking to be tagged and so are ugly ones. I am not saying that it's right but the inner city has suffered a lot of strife with politicians spending and cutting ways and fights back illegally a lot of the time. It's human nature where the small guy has to hit the big guy somehow and in some way he or she will do it. I strongly oppose the clean up program because it doesn't foster creativity amongst graffiti in fact it makes it seem illegal. Yet the irony is that graffiti being illegal makes it all the more thrilling to do because you are one upping the guys who exploit you in the first place. You know? It's a rush I would think even though I have not done it. There's raw truth in it whether you like it or not. I advocate for graffiti schools and more spending upon mural making in Rochester based on graffiti styles. Yet if you can deter the weak graffiti taggers then deter them but don't simply make that your entire policy though.

It's not our kids. I was stopped at a train yesterday and the train was coming from the east. (NYC I think that's east of here... sounds good) and the train cars were all painted up. Some looked good and some looked like crap. Our poor kids see this and think they can do just as good if not better. Well they can't. We should have a law that no one under the age of 18 can buy spray paint or something like that. Wait I think we do have a law like that. We should start busting Home Depot and other places that sell that crap to our kids. We could get the cops to send a kid in to buy this junk and then bust them. We could close them down. Yea that's it. Hell we can get the rope right from their store and hang them in the parking lot. Come on grab your tourches and lets head out the get them bastards.

I just love to see texting. I can assume you are saying all kinds of nasty things to get past the moderator and then I can immediately ignore you. I think it shows a lack of respect (and cahones) (and education) that you are unable to express yourself so that people can even understand you.

I had a problem with graffiti on a brick four family home years ago when I foolishly purchased ghetto property.
Every morning the building was tagged and every afternoon the city liberals demanded I remove it .
So after ten times or more removing the graffiti with paint .....I decided to do something about it.
I painted the bird ... Middle finger over the tag ...

The gangs stopped tagging and the city liberals went away.
To this day .... The bird is still there.......lmao

That was pretty foolish buying an inner city rental property. Now they are big problems in most suburbs also.

I was 19 when I purchased properties in the ghetto.......many years ago.
If I knew then what I know now I'd never would have done that.
Perhaps you remember the D&C article about " landlord walks away from property "
I went to the welfare office and shoved hundreds of units keys up their ass... And walked away.
The liberals chase me all the way down the elevator .... Into the parking lot trying to get me to change my mind.

A fool and his $$$ soon part ...... Only fools purchase property in liberal areas.
And yes..... Liberalism is spreading like cancer and government is spreading to the burbs.
Now you have the student overlay district to protect government built housing from vacancies at the taxpayers expense.
In the burbs you have town supervisors who run on republican tickets but they are really democrats.

Beware of liberals posing as Americans
