Why not build in the city? Why do we need all these stores out in the burbs?

Because people from the burbs don't feel like driving into the hood to buy groceries. Thats why!

if you put it in the city it will just get ruined by vandals and people will be afraid to shop there becuase of the thugs.

Thanks for the positive comment, Frank- unlike the ignorant ones above yours! I have been to the store that opened at the corner of Culver and Univeristy- yes, gasp! in the city! The staff were great- very friendly, and kind.

I think this will be a great addition to Henrietta. Now they need one in Gates, Greece and Webster. Wegmans need more competition to stay in line. We use to get taken big time by Wegmans. Competition is good.

Well then I guess pauline will be happy to go into the Culver and University area to shop. If they open one at N. Clinton and Ave D I hope you enjoy it there too. Have fun. We will stay in the burbs.

Pauline's post is typical condescending east side swill. Let's see her go to the Tops on Upper Falls Blvd. instead of the store at Culver and University that is barely in the city. I don't see it happening.

It's always great to see another store open. It means more jobs, and more tax dollars coming in. Those people can now spend money and further the economy. The city does need more grocery options. Perhaps if there were more work for people, then maybe there wouldn't be so many "vandals and hoodlums" People who work for a living tend to raise more well behaved children.
Or...... you can complain, and continue to let people wallow in despair without a way to get out of it. They certainly can't pull money out of thin air to change their circumstances.

What's wrong with the Tops on Upper Falls Boulevard? This pasty-faced blue-eyed white boy has shopped there time and again. Even after sunset! No problems! Of course, this pasty-faced blue-eyed white boy isn't a racist black-hater, and perhaps it shows.(And no, I'm not Hispanic either, the name notwithstanding.)

Actually, the Tops on upper falls is cleaner than most. The produce is also fresh. I think that has more to do with the fact that there is a large Latino population. Latinos are usually nice people and keep their neighborhoods in good order. They teach their children how to be respectful of their elders, and that being polite is what gets you ahead in the world.
In fact, I don't think I've ever met a Latino that I didn't like. Really nice people, and a genuinely decent culture.

It would be great if there was a PriceRite in Gates to give both Wegmans, Tops, and Walmart some competition and for the consumer to stop getting ripped off by these crooks. You can bet on my business and I am sure many others.

Sigh...I lived near Tops on Upper Falls for a while. I secretly hoped that this certain store would fail. Yes, I'm a black, EDUCATED, deaf and single mother with college degrees and yet, the dynamics of that store targeted only Blacks, and Latino population. The Price rite on Driving Park, almost seemed to me it was targeting "white ghetto" and "city red-necks". I am NOT a racist and know what it is like to struggle with food and money despite our faltering economics.
Price Rite on Culver seems to me to be targeting "formerly comfortable and can spend more than $300 on a iphone" people who suddenly realize that Wegmans is finally out of their price range.
Now what dynamics will Henrietta Price Rite target? I'm curious...perhaps I should sulk in the candy aisle, and watch upright bipedal humans roam the store? Perhaps, the most surprising part would be..exactly HOW MANY people from the burbs come to the city to attend a store such as Price Rite?-gasp- Oy- the wonders!!! Fascinating!

What exactly do "white ghetto" and "city red-necks" eat anyway? Just curious. Are they "upright bipedal humans" or are they classified differently? I was hoping they would open a PriceRite near me but now I worry they are crawling with strange species ;-) lol

The Tops on West ave is great!!!!
I'm white, but I hardly ever see white people in this store, it seems even all of the employees are black. But everyone is soo nice in this store.
I've been to a few Wegmans, like in Pittsford, Fairport, and Chili, where everyone is very rude, it seems even all the customers are always in the way when your trying to go anywhere in the store.
