Maybe those drunk UofR students trying to get back home without the drunk bus??
Too bad a passenger died instead of the driver, but I'm sure they were all drunk anyways.
They'll never learn, and the laws will never change.

it does make me sad when the driver lives :( People always say "well, they have to live with it the rest of their lives" and as we cleary saw with Tia Gerstner, no, no they don't.

I mean, hell, the kid in Albion was smiling in his mug shot.

How much you wanna bet that within a couple days some of their friends will be on here saying what a great guy Garrett Ockun is.

Who you kidding? Out of that car of 5, probably 1 of them might've voted next november.

These idiotic 18 year olds would rather hold signs at the occupy events than do something that matters. Like an 18 year old has a clue how the world works?

""""2:30
Chad Roberts:
Made it to the scene -- finally. Have never seen so many deer in my life. One-car crash north of 3945 Clover St. Five people in car, transported. Will attempt to confirm more with MCSO later. """"

White Chad Roberts was already to blame deer.
Funny how you whites always stick up for each other.

Weren't you the same one that said a deer caused those 4 black guys to crash into the chili bridge and burn?

Must've been a deer on that offramp of 490 East to get off Plymouth to Inner Loop, when that carload smashed into the bridge too, made them all extra crispy. Think that was about 5 yrs ago.

I bet here is the senario. All these guys were HS friends who were home less than 24 hours from College and went out with the fake IDs to a bar, or went to a house party, or some one else's home to hang out and watch TV drink beers cuz the parents weren't home and raided the dad's beer fridge in the garage.

Reason this doesn't happen in the city is cuz:
- 95% of 18 yr olds dont own a car (but they can steal one)
- They dont go to college, so not celebrating T-Giving Break
- They dont graduate HS
- by 18, 5 lifelong friends usually dont hang, cuz 3 are in lockup somewhere, 1 is strung out on drugs in a crack house or rehab and the last one is at his baby Momma's babysitting.
- There aren't that many deer or trees in the hood to jump out at them

stop talking crap about a person you know nothing about..Garrett Ockun is an awesome friend and no one wanted this to happen, think about how awful he is feeling before you jump for joy about what charges he may be pressed with. None of us can imagine how awful it would feel to have your best friends life on your hands. you should feel awful for judging him like that.

I'm sure there is many local whites that can, cause they've done the same thing. Look at that girl that killed her friend then got out of jail to drive drunk again. I guess she didn't "Feel" much.

Riiiiight, he feels awful now that he's killed someone, but he didn't feel awful about driving drunk and risking any innocent person/family that may have been in his path right?

Like I've always said, it's too bad the drunk driver NEVER dies...

what would you do if you were faced with the same situation? everyone knows drinking and driving is bad, no matter how much we preach it its always going to happen. so are you all really going to blame it soley on the driver im pretty sure there were four other intoxicated passengers that made the choice as well. this is a tragedy, everyone is upset. and im sure that none of the people commenting rude things understands how garett must be feeling.

do you know her? are you in her head obvioubsly not so shut up you are an awful person. we are all human, it's not like he wanted this to happen. WHAT DOES BEING WHITE HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING? white, black, yellow, red. no matter what someones skin color or race or gender....that should have nothing to do with it. you are an awful person clearly

It won't happen to us, cause we don't drink, there's no need to preach to us cause we already know better.
Not everyone drinks and drives like you think they do.
It just goes to show that you are a drunk driver too.
ANd how do you know how they feel?? I bet it will not be the last time he drinks and drives, cause he probable thinks like you and will just say hey things happen it was only an accident no big deal lets go drinking again I;ll drive.

There are accidents where nobody is at fault (tree falls on house) then there are accidents where somebody makes poor choices (DWI). It doesn’t matter if they meant for something awful to happen—it is still their fault.
