Has anyone out there called 1-800-QUIT-NOW?

http://www.whec.com/news/stories/S2979088.sht...

I think I am at the point I'm serious enough about wanting to quit to call, but I'm apprehensive. Has anyone here actually called and did it help? If you are a former smoker, how did you quit? Do the new anti-smoking commercials affect you that still do smoke? I think they are bit over the top, but get the point across. My father quit by sucking lollipops. I don't have a sweet tooth though.:) Seriously, how did you that found a way quit?

It's hardcore but the I quit was this:
Get a pouch of rolling tobacco the lowe the quality the better.Mix in about one table spoon of black pepper mix well. Now get a cigarette machine and roll this up.I swear smokeing this will turn you off.It was the only thing that worked for me it took aabout 2 months.I have given this idea to several people who have failed every other way and it has worked for all but three.Good luck3496

Quit cold turkey 19 years ago.

It's a choice of life or death.

Breathing or gasping for air.

Smelling good or like a nasty ashtray.

Having extra money or penny pinching.

Cold turkey is the best way. Cigarettes DO NOT help with stress. They increase the blood pressure and heart rate, they only stop withdrawal symptoms like any other drug.

Find other hobbies, something to do with your hands. Chew on straws, toothpicks, gum or lollipops. Keep busy. Make a list of things you would have like to or wanted to do.

Hang around NON-Smokers!!!!
When the urge hits....don't give in. The longer you avoid lighting up, the easier it becomes.

Get the FACTS!!!

Hint

Have never called but over the years tried just about everything. Nothing worked. Then found nicotine inhalers in Canada, sold over the counter in Canada at the time. Not sure if they are sold here.
Many, many years smoke free and know many people who have had great success with them compared to patches & other cr@p.
Google them I HIGHLY recommend them for anyone serious about quiting.
Good luck.
