Are you suggesting that they may have already selcted a high ranking State Trooper as their next police chief and that they will spend taxpayer dollars just putting on a dog & pony show of criteria and interviews of prospective candidates in order to make it look like poitics didn't play a role in the selection process. I just don't believe it! Auberger and the Town government of Greece have shown they take the hiring of new employees very seriously and are quite meticulous in the process. The only way I could feel more confident in the process is if they asked Maggie Brooks to be involved.

I will do at a 50% pay cut, and lower taxes by forming a county metro police, benefiting all current officers and citizens. OF course only if Bob Lonsberry approves this, so I wait his blessing.

Ask anyone who knows republican politics the answer was made years ago. The next Chief of Police is Mike Cerretto, currently a Captain in the State Police. The only question is will this persons "baggage" of domestics and drunken rages come to light in the process or is the republican machine just to powerful. Cerreto has a lot of political pull and the town has been trying to get him for years. This guy is no different than the last another scandal is not to far away. Mark my words Cerretto in and Auberger leaves 6 months later for the Water Authority job (returned the favor). I challenge the news to uncover this story and do what the town of greece cant do and do a proper background investigation.

Mike Cerretto is an arogant man who gets what he wants and is not least worried who he crushes in the process. Ask those who know him or better yet ask some members of his soon to be police department, im sure some may have some very good stories for you some may include him being investigated for domestic crimes.

PS its too little to late next scandal is just a few years away.
Auberger must be blind

Auberger says the town will select a new police chief "with personal integrity and a vision for the rebuilding of our department."
He's right under your nose, Mr. Auberger....they don't come with more personal integrity than Acting Chief Brian Urhmacher.

The current acting Chief of police has by far more integrity than any person eligible for the position. The only reason he wont get it is because he is not willing to sell his morals to the Supervisor, won't be a puppet (probably would do whats honest and fare), and not a back stabbing corrupt member of the republican machine.

Exactly! I voted but the majority of Greece residents I spoke with on a regular basis did not (but they all complained). Most had the attitude that Auberger was gonna win no matter what so why bother. Well if just a few of you had bothered to exercise your right to vote we would not be heading down the same old path of corruption and nepitism.

Bryan Uhrmacher is the right person for the job!

Finalists Include:
1 ~ Major Steve White, State Police (Seen as most qualified)
2 ~ Captain Michael Ceretto, State Police (Has better political backing)
3 ~ Acting Chief, Brian Uhrmacher (Likely to be named Deputy Chief)

If the first 2 candidates has *baggage* then we will have the same scandals all over again with the State Police in charge.
