Because the police need to see if a black person is driving the car.

You make me laugh.

How about, "Whites can be seen through the glass, blacks blend in with the glass"

Thats more like it......

Got tint on my car. Stopped for speeding and cop used gadget on my tint and said to take it off - illegal. but did not get a ticket. what to do...

the tint shop has same tint on their personal cars and have not been stopped. so guess you won't get stopped just for tint, but will get talked to about it if stopped for something else?

Would like to hear others with tint and their experience.

They can really remove the tint from the windows? I always thought it could never come off.

Hey reggin, that's why I was asking the question, because I don't know about window tinting and you probably don't either. Also it's good to learn something new.

Thank you very much. You know if it is illegal then it should not be allowed to be sold to the public. This doesn't seem right to me, because a person can go in and say he wants a dark tint thinking that it's okay and go down the street and get a ticket. Sounds like they are trying screw the regular person out here. I never knew that there was a law against too dark of a tint.

You see your problem is you dont know what your talking about yet you still talk and talk and talk.
Why didn't you ASK a question about something you don't know, instead of TELLING us something thats not true and you know nothing about???
Tint thats put on can be taken off.
Tint laws are different per state, and per window.
Really dark tint may be allowed on rear windows and maybe not front windows, thats why it's LEGAL to sell. Plus NOT all window Tint is used on cars. duh Plus, just because its against the law, it doesn't stop people from doing what that want to do.
Now get of the internet and into your wheelchair and go friend some friends or atleast a book from the local library about the uses and laws of window tinting before you open your mouth again.

I found it odd that the officer did not give a ticket for the tinting yet said it was illegal. I agree, should not be sold if it's illegal. Or at least only sell the correct tintage per window.

If NYS has the toughest laws and its because of officer saftey, then where is the cases or news stories of officers being killed or injured during a traffic stop because of the tinted windows?? I've never heard of an officer shot because he couldn't see through tinted windows.
And why would it then be allowed in LIMO's?? Are people in limo's more trusted or less likely to shoot an officer?? Does a cop need to know where my hands are but not the hands of people in the back of a limo??
I truely don't know who comes up with these laws and how they pass because they don't seem to make any sense.
The law is to protect cops, yet most cops injured or killed on the job are because of car accidents, but we never hear laws made to prevent cop from crashing their cars. Matter a fact even the new cell phone laws don't cover them.

Bravo, Many Mothers against Dyslexia! I agree with you 100%. Sometimes I think that the police unions make these laws to prove to the dues payers that they are working!
Maybe Chuck Schumer comes up with these things ... silly laws are his forte'.

And that's what I did, dog person. If you went about 4 or 5 posts before, I asked the question about the law. So you must be the fool like RacistSlut who said something too. I asked the question and Tinted gave me the answer. No matter what I say you jerks say something, but this time you made a fool out of yourself. Lowlife trolls
