So your saying now that the city has the worse teachers, and its for a reason?
Well, if the best teachers can't do it, then how can the worse do it? I still stay swap city teachers with the suburban teachers.
If suburban kids have so much to work with, then they must not really need the best teacher anyways?
You made my point. You cant fix stupid. Why on earth would we ever want to let the underachievers DRAG DOWN the achievers?

Tell me please, why should suburban students be dragged down for urban students who dont show up half the time?

Why should suburban students suffer because urban parents dont give a sh!t.(fill in all the UN PC words you want)

Both urban and suburban teachers are from the suburbs.
If the urban schools already get the worse white teachers that live in the burbs, then why not get rid of them and get the best teachers that live in the city to teach in city schools??
As per your logic, it shouldn't make a difference, and why should bad white teachers be the only one that benefits from city schools?

The problem is that the schools are run like a bureaucracy and less like a business.

Schools won't get rid of problem students who distract the kids who want to be there. To an administrator, losing a student means the district losses all the money that goes with it. Not the loss of classroom distractions.

The teachers unions are to blame for both the wanton waste of taxpayer's dollars, and their belief that ALL TEACHERS ARE EQUAL. The schools can't fire bad teachers. Good teachers can't be highlighted for doing a good job because it makes the rest look bad.

Creative teachers have their hands tied by government involvement at county, state and federal level. New ideas or teaching methods are shot down by administrators who donít have to motivate children to learn.

To fix our school system, we have to look to the private schools and see how they run their programs.
