""" 44 Exchange Blvd. won an Award of Merit. It was first built in 1959 and now has first-floor retail and offices along with apartments.""" "

How can a building first built in 1959 be considered to be connected with the Landmark Society???

Plus it's not even 1959, its was built in 1962.

If a piece of architecture is considered indicative of a certain style from a certain era it is considered eligible for Landmark status. I'm not totally familiar by memory of what the building looks like, but I'm just giving a probable reason.

O.K. just saw the picture I know which one it is now. Yeah, as ugly as hell as that building is it would be considered a prime example of '50's '60's modern style architecture. Therefor it would be considered historical.

Well maybe you should do a little research before you try to give a lesson?

I went and looked into it based on your comment. I found nothing that contradicts my possible reason for the landmark status. What I found is exactly what I said. The Landmark Society is dedicated to preserving historically important architecture. Which is exactly what I was trying to point out. It can be considered that based on the style of architecture it was built in. I never said it is a definite reason just a probability.

There are only offices on the first-floor. There is NO retail in the building.

Do you find the style of architecture in this case a situation worth restoring?

Like I said the building is ugly as hell. So me personally not really. Though I'm not on the board that makes such decisions. I guess there could be some clout maybe based on the possibility that maybe few examples of the style exist. I don't know

No I did not stupid.

Do you know what " " means?????

It means its a quote from the link I provided.

In the link you will find your PROOF that I am not the one who said retail, but the D&C writer said it had retail.
So get off my back and go call the D&C and ask them for proof.

You spinster goon there you go again. When Maxsab said there is no retail in the building. You reply who and where does it say retail. I then point out that you did and in your original post. As in, you said it when you quoted the article. That is were he got the notion of retail being there. You're a pile of rocks. Really go back to school and learn discourse. Christ sakes you can't even comprehend the dialog you engage in and you call other people stupid. You brought it into the conversation and you ask someone where they get it from.
