As a fan of both shows I tend to bounce back and forth between the 2 shows. It is interesting to hear the break room go overboard an stressing the point that they are the show for the common man. It is a common thought shared by many in town.

Wease became popular by being able to connect with the guy on the street. Now his show is pretty much a recap of what high end restaurant that he ate at the night before with his doctor and business owner friends.

I have listened to wease for over 25 years and yes the crowd that he hangs with has changed over time and that does come out in the show,

The break room is simply trying to drive home that wease is to good for many in town.

Wease still has a huge heart and he is a legend on the airways but the break-room is making a valid point.

Glad you know your common, and can identify with other common people. And that a radio station you like is pointing out that they are more for losers than the other station. Hey, maybe get a tat this weekend, Potsy.

I just feel that the break room is trying to point out that wease cant relate to the listener that earns 50k per year anymore. And that has always been his bread and butter to be able to connect to those people.

did you really have to start another discussion for Slammer to take over?

Rock station morning talk radio is DEAD.

try some music.

or, better yet, WBEE.
DJ's with a brain that DON'T incessantly mock people and M-F the world.
Newman and Hausman, with the Bird.
fresh air my man, fresh air.

and Newman is now intergalactically certified to do interstellar broadcast, interplanetary farming, and universal gynecological exams...it's true, I read it on the INTERNET.

That's the truth. Dead format.

I don't want talk, I want music. I especially don't want to listen to wease spout his crap. Isn't most of his audience deceased by now?

Talk radio is not dead it is quite the opposite. The most popular radio stations are those that focus on the talk format.

As far as Wease is concerned he has paid his does and deserves to take advantage of his place in life and if that means going out to expensive dinners every night so be it.

However with that said it is easy to see why WCMF is trying to paint him as an elite member of the local social scene in an effort to make him seem out of touch.

He has paid his dues. For what? What do we owe him?

With that said (God I hate that), what is his place in life? He's a moron that is neither amusing or entertaining. Never was, never will be.

Dave, Really???

Who told you this ... the marketing people who are trying to sell you something?

I can't stand listening to the radio in the morning!
I have morning playlists I listen to on my phone until Dave Kane comes on with MUSIC at 10:00!

Talk radio is so canned.
They ALL talk about the same thing: news, what's on craigslist or this forum ... but nothing new!

And IF a caller brings up something that isn't main stream, opps ... lost that caller.

Weases career was over years ago. No one cares what he thinks. He is a relic of radio history in Rochester.

Bouncing between both stations this morning one can really see how effective WCMFs new objective to come across as the station of the every-man is. All Wease is talking about is hanging out with the in crowd at the i heart music fest in Vegas.

Huge points for the break room today !!

Wease is a wanabee celebrity, but he's a lowlife DJ. I agree, his career was washed up years ago. He's boring, full of crap and not a player. He should just hang it up. Who listens to him anymore?

Wease is a radio legend.. He's one of (if not) the only talk show hosts that got better ratings than Howard Stern when Howard was syndicated in the same market.

That being said, Wease had his day, but is LONG past his prime, and should be put out to pasture. His ratings do not justify his salary, it's time to go so they can play ipod music 24/7 on that station, or hire some new young hungry talent.

They should pay him minimum wage for what he contributes. Wease is the poster boy for washed up.
